Default xB Rearview Mirror replacement?

Whats up all. I'm thinking about replacing my rear view mirror with an aftermarket that has map lights, compass, and outside temp. To do this I'll have to install a button on my windshield and this will leave an empty spot where the stock mirror came off.
For those of you who have done this, does removing the stock mirror leave an ugly gap in the headliner? If so, what have you all been doing to cover that spot? Pics would be welcome.

I have been looking to get this done too, but haven't really found any good leads. What type of mirror have you settled on? Have any suggestions on a place I can look? Promise, I'll be the first to let you know the answer to your questions about the hole in the headliner since no one else is rushing in! THX!

why don't you buy the actual Scion mirror to prevent any problems? it may not have the temp....but...I'd rather do that then have a hole in my headliner!

I'm up to something in this department, I'll take pics when I get things pulled down. It would be pretty easy to fab a filler block covered with matching material or something more functional like a light, compass, temp gauge, garage door remote, etc. Ooops, perhaps I've said too much too soon...

I'll probably be losing the visors too. Does that give away too much?

I've found a nice mirror on ebay here:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I've been in touch with the seller and he's been very helpful as far as answering my mounting questions. He's even going to throw in a free mounting kit which includes the adhesive for the new wedge button.

I guess I'll probably fabricate a cover using the existing cover from the old mirror. Probably won't be too tough. Just though someone might have done this already and could provide feedback.

I put in the TOYOTA HIGHLANDER mirror, that comes with the temp, compass, auto dimming...And it does indeed, sit on the window. And the stock mirror, when removed, leaves the little gray box up there...as in, the thing that covers over the bolt and all that held up the stock mirror. It does not bug me to have that there. I keep thinking of something I can do with it...But nothing yet.

I'm afraid I don't have a picture; sorry.

Maybe you could buy one of those suglass/storage compartments that get attached to the roof and that way you can cover the spot for the old mirror and get more storage at the same time? I still haven't bought my new mirror because of the lack of ideas of what to do with that, but I think this might be the solution for me...

I got one of those gentex pieces and wired it up. Still waiting on having a windshield button installed, but I'll probably put my back emblem on a piece of plastic and slap it up there. A bB emblem would fit the spot perfectly.

Sounds like Mark is going to be doing one of the van conversion thingies.
