Default xB takes a hit...

Rear bumper. Nice scrap that popped it out. Livid.

I took the screw out of the wheel well area and popped it back in.

Took it to a collision shop and they want $700.

The quote includes replacing LT Lens & housing (there is nothing wrong with them and they work), LT side marker lamp (again, nothing wrong) and they will use some flex material to fill in the scraps on the bumper.

Really not sure what to do.

Thoughts?

My xB has under 43K on it and she is needing some replacement parts as the driver side door and drivers side door does not respond to the lock/ unlock on the fob nor in car.

Acck.

When I was rear-ended, the damage was ONLY to the bumper. The repair cost $2000+.

Reason? The entire rear bumper needed to be replaced. $700 is a reasonable price.

When I was rear ended, and they replaced the bumper cover and hatch. It was like $1900+, done by the Toyota facility. Can't even tell anything happened. $700 sounds like a steal. It does depreciate the car, though.

Car was parked in a Starbucks lot, just ran in to get a coffee came out and found it hit with the bumper popped out. No note, nothing.

The estimate isn't replacing the bumper, it is filling it in and they jack the estimate with replacement parts that aren't needed as they are perfect.

$700 for filler is not something I want. Rather replace the entire bumper.

What mine looks like is someone slowly pushed into the rear bumper, maybe with a pick up truck. 2 large scrapes and pushed out the side of the bumper which I was able to take the screw out, push it back in and screw it back.

It appears to be all cosmetic, but not liking the idea of filler, maybe I am wrong to think that.

Need to get her back up to speed.

New bumper skin is NOT expensive, and probably as cheap as filling and painting the old one.

Mine was replaced by a good shop and I'm vary happy with how it came out.
