xB vs. buick regal
hello all,
wanted to share my story (actually, the wife's story since she's the daily xB driver) about her encounter thursday eve with a MUCH larger vehicle. she was making a left turn in between traffic and this :loser: driving a 4 door regal met the mighty scion front end. thankfully no one was hurt. anyway, she was going a few mph when they hit, and the damage to the regal was surprising---damage to both drivers and rear passenger doors, to the point where neither could be opened (ha ha ha). as for the scion, no air bag deployment, but the bumper from the grill down has to be replaced. and as happens more often than not here in vegas, he had no insurance, an expired registration and a canadian (!!!) drivers license. needless to say, he was issued a few hefty tickets (again, HA HA HA). she got one also, but nothing major. she took the scion to the dealership and they wanted $2600 for repairs (which they deemed all cosmetic). she got a second estimate from a 'bumper specialist' and their quote--a touch over $1000. guess where we'll be going??? |
Glad to hear that everyone is OK. When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought to myself please don't tell me this is a drag race story! LOL!

Crash test
Glad to read no one was hurt.
With no US crash test yet on the box we can only go from post like yours. The box homeland test was good enough for me to buy two. Box vs American steel. Sounds like we did good. No unnecessary AB deployment is very good also. My future young drivers will be drivin a box around here. The splitties can wait till they get older. Did anybody yell out. " Body kit time" |
I was thinking drag race too when I read the title. Glad to hear no one was hurt and the xb held up so well.

Dang, nothing really happened to the box then. I mean it's a buick and they're not plastic.

Thank God, this wasn't a racing story...
