YOUR FIRST MOD?
Heheh yes... I cannot wait for mine to come in. Injen Injen injen... I did not want to spend 500 dollars for that AEM CAI. It looks pretty, but man, I think I can deal with less than half the price with the short ram... plus I get 1more HP than that CAI : )
My RS 2.0 was supposed to be here mid March, then by the end of March, now today they are saying mid April. I put the deposit on it back in February.
Anyway here is what I've got so far sitting around to put in/on it:
17" 5Zigen Rims
Goldline 2" Springs (on the way)
Floor Mats
Fog Lights
Interior and Underhood Cathodes
Headrest Monitors
Xbox (need to make mounting box when xb arrives)
Eclipse AVN unit (should be here before xb)
Cargo Cover
Custom graphics (for my business)
Plus more stuff I can't think of that is on the way...

I ordered mine with AEM CAI, TRD Exhaust, TRD Shocks, TRD Springs, TRD Quick-shift. Rear spoiler, carbon fiber interior console, Custom leather heated seats, OBX race pedals and shifter, TYC rear lights, Fog lights, Hotchkiss tower stabilizer bar, Bazooka Tube sub, 6-cd stereo, Blue LED interior lights and lighted cupholder, Door sill enhancements, rear bumber appliqae, moon roof. Then I added 18" PIAA sport mesh wheels and Yokohama spec 2 tires.
A short ram will give you about 1.5 hp too.
Nothing like a nice blast of hot air from right over the engine block to improve performance.

If you're going to get a CAI, get one that makes sense and actually pulls COLD air from behind the front bumper.
But back to the question, my first mod was a TRD short shift and an AEM CAI with bypass. Next will be a thicker rear anti-sway bar, which I recommend over the popular strut tower bar because it does a hell of a lot more for handling. Strut tower bar looks cool, but doesn't do alot on a rigid unibody car with a hood that is 12" long.

The AEM cold air intake retails for like $335.00 plus tax. They also have a limited release AEM cold air intake (and hotchkis stut bar) that is painted yellow for the same price to match the new xB 2.0
