Halo Projector headlights

I really want to get the Halo Projector headlights for my 08 xb, but i'm not sure how well they hold up, wear and tear, lamps burning out, etc. can anyone help?

I have the Anzo ones on mine. I have had them for almost 3 years now. They still work and function great. Not a single issue at all. The halos are still as bright as the day I put them on.

I recently tried to install an HIDExtra kit in a friend's halo/LED headlights with no luck. Not sure if it's the projectors being crap-tastic, or if the bulbs are the culprit.

I say scoop up the legit Anzo brand.

I still feel the OEM headlights with slight modifications are superior.

It's kind of a 50/50 shot. We've had people who have had great success, and some people who have had terrible problems (e.g., the CCFL rings burn out, etc.). Plus, the cutoff in the Anzo and other Halo headlights are also terrible for HIDs as light is scattered rather than focused. They are not designed as well with projecting capability when compared to stock OEM projector headlights.

I personally would love a set of Anzo ones for my car, but the $300+ price tag scares the hell out of me knowing that I have a 50% chance of the CCFL rings dying within the first year. Because of this, I elected not to purchase them, especially because I love my HIDs. People with Anzos rocking HIDs have reported that the light concentration is nowhere near as focused when compared to OEM.

Stay away from those spec-d lights!

I have the Anzo's and love them. They fit great, looks great, and are very well made. The only problem I had with them, is when I first installed them, the Parking/Turn light sockets were defective and I kept blowing fuses. My OEM sockets were identical, so I just used them instead and no problems since. Since installing the Anzo's, I did switch out the Parking/Turn bulbs with V-Leds Switchback LED's. I also just installed HID's in the projectors, but the box is off the road for the winter and I haven't been able to try them out on the road yet.

@XBinRochester: If you can do us a favor, when you are able to get your xB back on the road, see if you can get us a picture of the cutoff line for your HIDs against a wall. We're going to need a picture for the ScionLife community so that xB owners can make informed decisions on these headlights.

On the next nice day, I will back the Box out of the garage and do it!

Well here they are, I took it out of the garage this morning. Definitely not as straight of a cut-off line as before, but not as bad as everyone was saying.

^ Thanks a bundle for those pictures! It looks like your passenger side low beam needs to be adjusted a little bit higher. Generally the driver's side is lower to prevent blinding people.

The cutoff on those aren't too bad at all. How are your CCFL halos holding up? And how long have you had them?

I installed the Anzo's last June and they are holding up fine. When I am driving, they are usually always on! LOL

I HAD the same exact ones... however.. somehow water got inside... I took them off, dried them out, but water spots were left inside.. SO, I decided to bake them, pull em apart and clean, then put back together.. first one was a breeze, but the other?? not so much. I ruined it.. :( For now I'm back to OEM. I WILL be getting a new set of ANZOs though. I loved mine. Also had HIDs. NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. AWESOME HEADLIGHTS!!! A+++

Bonus: They look AMAZING on or off.. I always drove around with just my parking lights on during the day so the halos would be lit.

Those Anzos look sweet, but I like the Audi-style LED's on these. Does anyone have these? Any issues? I just ordered the Oznium VLEDS for the side vents and these lights look amazing with them. Just want some feedback on these lights. Thanks

A-snell 04-28-2011 03:23 AM

those are nice but not DUAL halos.

dannyk9260 04-28-2011 01:29 PM

Also, does anyone know how to wire the VLEDs to the ignition to make them DRLs? I'd like to do this if there's not too much re-wiring involved.

Just a heads up, but contrary to what some sites have posted, the Anzo dual halo (Eagle Eyes) do not fit the 11-12 xBs :-(
