Did you know you can install a new flasher module to take care of this?
1x 8 Pin LED Flasher Relay Fix Signal Lights for Lexus | eBay

The listing says "not compatible", but it sure works on my tC.
Pull your flasher and compare, it should have 8 pins. No cutting required.

If you want resistors here's how.

tried the resistors today. they get so hot! it felt really unsafe so i'm just going to go the relay route. if anyone knows exactly what part i need and can chime in, i'd appreciate it. i'll check the relay posted here when i get a chance tomorrow.

They don't get any hotter than a bulb.

But for future reference, you need a 6 ohm resistor per side in series if you're only running front or rear leds, 3 ohm per side if you run front and rear leds.

Also, make sure you get a resistor rated for at least 50w of power.

The relay is the way to go. I've run one for years with a mix of regular and LED bulbs in many different configurations. Finally had to replace it last week since the left side died. Not too bad, it lasted 6 years. For the xB just remember to cut the left and right clip tabs off the relay, it doesn't fit with them on.

No, just one relay. I just had the left half of my relay die the other week that's all.

Default TapTurn Flasher Module

I just converted everything over to LED on my '15 xB and of course got the hyperflashing issue too. I didn't really like the issue with the extra heat and having to splice wires but I was reluctantly looking at having to go with the resistor solution since several sources said the turn signals for the newer xB's were controlled by some sort of internal computer and not a conventional flasher module. Well... I found a flasher module under the dash, pulled it out, took photos and asked around what it was. Turns out it was a flasher module. It was just like the one in my FR-S which lead me to believe I could use the TapTurn flasher module I found on an FR-S forum. I got one, tried it and it worked. Perhaps the new will wear off but I'm totally geeked by this little thing. It's like 10x the cost of a regular one but worth every penny. It does what a regular LED flasher module does but better (no delays, adds tap function...) and an endless list of other crap it can do. Here is a link to their page.
Here is a guy that does a pretty good video with his WRX.

I'll try to put a video together and come back to post it but for now, here is my new LED and HID.

The relay is "a" way to go. I've been using resistors since 09. Mount them properly to a metal surface and you won't melt a thing; also, the metal will act as a heat sinc.

It's behind the driver's knee panel. I found this guy's site that shows how to get the knee panel off. https://sites.google.com/site/brickp...ers-knee-panel . His site is pretty useful altogether by the way. You can see the flasher module in his last picture in the very bottom right. It's the gray box. It pulls straight out.

I sure wish the tC was that easy to reach. It's all the way up behind the instrument panel.

What led bulbs did you buy for your front turn signals?
