Sorry I probably should have included this in my other post but i forgot. Anyhoo, same deal. Has anyone used this and is it any good? How about compared to other "no need to dry" washes? You know, for those days that there just isnt enough time.

You still have to scrub down the car. I have it... It works good... You just gotta still hand scrub the car. Basically you rinse the whole car off first, then soap an area at a time, scrub it down with your sponge, rinse it, and repeat for the whole car, THEN you go over the whole car on the filtered water setting on the nozzle, then that creates the drying without spotting because it uses a PUR water filter... it works though, it dries spotless everytime...

the way they show on the commercials is only for light dust/dirt, nothing really stuck on. for that you'll need to scrub

Yeah it really does work. Still have to hand wash but when you rinse it it will dry spotless.

BUT, in my experience and others I've read and seen, it seems like the soap you have to use removes wax. I noticed after using it on my car a few times it didn't have the deep shine anymore. And when it rained or the car got wet, the water didn't bead up anymore like it had wax on it. Some of my friends experienced the same thing and I read online where others think the soap is harsh and removes wax. So that's something to think about. If it weren't for that, I would still use it.

correct, but it is neat how it mixes the soap and water together for you, and then you scrub the car, and just dry it off. works great, but you still gotta use some elbow grease clean the car.

i had no idea that the soap takes off the wax..i haven't waxed my car yet..but i do use the Mr Clean auto dry once a week and I really like it.

so based on what mad-sciontist said, can I just wash my car with whatever soap i want and then rinse it off with just the filter part of the mr clean thing? would that be cheaper than buying the refill?

Works really well and does what it is suppose to... Auto Dry!

That's a really good question. I thought about that once, but never tried. I don't know if there's anything in the Mr. Clean soap that aids in the spotless drying. I think the filtered water is the biggest part of it doing that. By doing that though, you're buying a really expensive nozzle (ie. buying the Mr. Clean deal just to spray and rinse the car). Then you'd have to buy a new filter every so often.

Do they sell a filter you can buy that will filter the hose water without buying the my. clean kit?

Yeah I've heard of people putting some sort of inline filter on their water hose. I've never seen what to use or how it's done though.

I've only used it once and it didn't work for me. The filtered water didn't have enough pressure to completely displace the un-filtered water that beaded up on the large horizontal surfaces of the car. Hence, I had lots of water spotting on my NBM when it dried.

Maybe it'll work better next time. As to the soap, just use your favorite car wash instead of Mr. Clean.

My son has the Mr Clean system.. I used it twice & had to sit there while it air dried.. at least 30-45 minutes!!
it did ok..... dried almost spotless byt took too long !!!

now I hand wash mine with Turtle wash/wax.....
rinse with a hose. (un-filtered).
blow dry it with my leaf blower.. ( I tied a towel loosly around the exhaust to catch any oil)...
then finish with a microfiber towell..
ready to roll.. 10 minutes after I turn the hose off!!!
