Shark Fin Antenna install W/ PICS
just got a shark fin antenna from http://www.sharkfinantenna.com/
It took about a week to get it.
Here is the install..
1. Remove stock "stick" antenna..
2. Clean area around the base of antenna with rubbing alcohol and 3m prep solvent. I used Turtle Wax liquid clay bar and rubbing alcohol after..
3. Attach the coiled cord to the antenna base using the supplied hardware. NOTE: use the washer that is supplied.
4. bend the antenna base all the way forward for clearance.
5. Place fin antenna into position on car, align it and use painter's tape to mark it's position on ALL sides..
6.remove backing on adhesive foam tape and GENTLY place the antenna back into position.
7. Once you are happy with the alignment, press the antenna down and hold it firmly for 1 minute. (the adhesive is pressure sensitive)
8. Remove tape, step back and enjoy your new Shark Fin Antenna..

It definitely looks really cool and I have contemplated about integrating that with my Silver xB, but I don't want to spend $70 on it. If they offered a Scion Life discount like Mobilehid does, then I'd be a little bit more interested.
All-in-all, great DIY. It looks really clean and makes a VERY sleek look to the car.

True, I mean that is definitely one good thing about is getting a perfect match. I wouldn't consider buying something like this from eBay. I guess it bothers me because it's so small. If it was spoiler sized, or came with a $20 bill when shipped to you, then I'd buy it.

It looks good, I need the antenna element that's inside it, I want to tuck it under my headliner, since my antenna is gone completely.. Any idea where to get something flat or small like that?
