2010 xB injectors

Dropped off my 2010 xB for it's 20K service at the dealer and the service adviser called back and said that I need to have my injectors cleaned and it'll cost $149.

Is this normal?!? Is this something I need/should do so "soon?"

I've never had a car that required me to do this at the 20K mark.

and what grounds does he have to say you need this done?

Every dealership I've worked for recommends it around 60. There should be no reason to do it at 20k

Yes, it's perfectly normal for a dealer service advisor to recommend fuel injector cleaning at 20k miles and NO, it is absolutely not needed nor should you waste your money doing it.

What you should consider is adding some fuel injector cleaner to your tank at every oil change unless you're already running top tier gasoline (Shell, Exxon, Texaco, etc.)
