... shift without pushing in the clutch, my Civic used to do this.

Back to the issue, my tC locks me out of 1st sometimes. What do you expect from a stock E350/E351, Camry-sourced granny tranny? You can start with eneos 75w-90 GL5 oil; MT 90 doesn't do much.

I know I do run on sentence cause I don't really care LOL!!! Also I know it is not a race car. I just like to get on it every once and a while with friends in there cars next to me just to have some fun. LOL!!! I dought that I could mess up my trans within 2,000 miles when all I drive is 5speed cars!!!! I even do auto cross in a 5 speed and it has not giving me any probs and it is a first gen xb. Nothing done to motor or trans besides intake and headers LOL!!! So i know it is not my driving that messed it up. I know the tc and xb have the same motor and trans in them, and I have a friend in the team that has one and he hot rods it around all day and dosent have any probs with his. I just think there was a bad synchronizer in it LOL!!!

I'm having problems with my transmission clunking. shifting to 2nd gear, sometimes I'll hear a clunk but what's disturbing me is that I hear a knocking sound when the car is idling. It only happens when I'm sitting still with my foot OFF the clutch pedal and the A/C compressor is running. If you turn off the A/C, the sound goes away. If you push the clutch pedal to the floor, the sound goes away.

My suggestion is to push the clutch pedal all the way in, and then shift just as fast as the shifter allows you, don't try to force it, and when the shift is complete, release the clutch.

If that isn't fast enough, then get your transmission upgraded to something more competition oriented.

you can't slam gears in the xb2, it's simply just not made to slam gears hard you'll mishift or grind tried it and done it, i wonder if nst shifter bushing might help though, but i wouldnt even want to hurt my baby by racing it its' not worth it to me

With the amount of LOL!!!'s you use, one might think otherwise.
You posted on an internet forum, you're going to get some criticism. Maybe some of these people are right. You're not driving a performance oriented car. The syncros are probably made out of brass. When you try and slam the gears, all you're doing is wearing them down real fast. Be easy on the trans and it'll be easy on you. This car doesn't have stuff like stainless steel syncros (ala Dodge Viper). If you know exactly what the syncros do, you'll understand why. If you don't, go read.

If you want to go fast, grab a B16 and one of these: http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/tran_honda%20b.asp

I think the art of at least *trying* to spell things correctly and punctuate sentences has been lost. :?

Ive pinpointed the issue down to wheelspin. If I have a bad launch and set the wheels spinning its like the tranny locks itself into first gear. Whenever I dont spin the wheels too much if at all, I never have any problem getting into 2nd. An LSD would possibly solve this problem.

Just do it now it makes a nice difference. I used to get a 5th gear grind for no reason when getting on it through 3rd or 4th on the highway and now its gone.
