Best exhaust to get

I want something people can hear but not extremely loud. What would be the better brand to get. The dual tsudo exhaust, strup, borla, get a universal muffler, or tanabe

TRD... then remove the front resonator & replace it with a glasspack. Works like a charm... sounds good... looks good... :)

I have strup and personally would never want anything else. Charlie at strup knows what he is doing and he made a great product for sure. IMO Strup is the best one out there. It produces a nice deep tone not the ricey sound...

i'm waiting on the medalion touring exhaust. it looks real good. they also advertise their stuff as under 93db. you might want to pick this up also.

Any pics of the Strup exhaust?

i went with a magnaflow universal polished SS racing can. took it to a muffler shop for the install (200 bucks total for muffler/labor) it was just as quiet as the stock set up until i installed a Strup CC header. now it sounds really good. not too loud... deep tone. the header is the best upgrade so far, imo.

and you kept the stock resonator/cat in the middle? any sound clips? i am thinking of doing a custom axleback setup but with a tanabe tip...

Would you happen to know where one could get the Glasspack?

I have the TRD Exhaust. Seems to get a little louder as more miles get on the xB. However, nothing like my borla sounded on my SVT Focus.

Thanks for our help.

coryjames 01-27-2008 04:40 PM

the only problem i have that i need to fix in a rattle some where so i am going to find it and kill it you can only hear it at full throtle next to the car so yeah

WXMotorSports 01-27-2008 06:23 PM

Heat shield maybe?

coryjames 01-27-2008 06:29 PM

I had a local custom shop hook me up with a custom dual exhaust. Vibrant tips and custom piping. It sounds amazing in my opinion. Many of you would probably think that it's to loud. The new piping completely eliminates the rear cat, so no restrictions. I love it!

WXMotorSports 01-27-2008 10:44 PM

Clarification on "Duals" do you have two mufflers or single in dual exits which are not true dual exhaust system? Either way, custom always sounds great.

broken_20_2 01-27-2008 10:52 PM

Well, the xB can never have TRUE dual exhaust. I have two tips, one on each side. It's as dual as the xB can get :P

ATxB 01-29-2008 03:07 PM

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to get any pics of the exhaust yet. I'm lowering the car this weekend and have to take the exhaust off to paint it anyway, so I'll get some pics then.
