Default CX Racing 3" catback Review and Dyno

I was looking for some catback exhaust that would be suitable for my future turbo set up and thankfully, CX Racing was offering a 3" catback that includes all piping all the way from the header.

That's right, it's the S-Pipe, Scuba tank delete, midpipe, and the axleback. They're all in 3" for your future turbo needs or just to indulge yourself with bigger piping.

Installation was easy. Just remove all your stock piping except header and bolt everything else on. The bends are really smooth. Welds are in a good quality.

The sound, however, is pretty loud. It's deep a nice deep tone, but really loud for my taste. The sound is nice and all, but because of the California cops, I may need to get a hi-flow cat or a resonator. The catback do come with the silencer and it will quiet down the sound a bit.

Then, I was able to dyno the car with the dynojet.

The numbers were impressive 159whp and 155wtq. It was almost up to the crank hp.

Next two vids were done with my cell phone so.. sound quality is really bad

Overall, I'm happy with the product. I will probably getting their turbo kit pretty soon as well.

Great job on getting more ponies out it. Can't wait to see your results after the turbo goes in. That's gonna be another a nice boost of power!!!

What other mods with that dyno?

EDIT: nevermind I checked ur profile. CAI and the 3'' exhaust. Those numbers are really impressive with just those two mods! Assuming stock whp is 135-140. Totally buying this exhaust!

This pretty much proves how restrictive the scuba tank is too. 3 inch exhaust isnt so much of an over kill either if you look at it this way.

OP, get a resonator ASAP! You're in for some fun with the California Highway Patrol if you don't.

I know.. but I have the provided silencer and it quietens down. I'm planning on installing the hi flow cat and/or resonator to this thing...

I want to hear it in person...the whole package seems cheap considering its a header-back. Hey what is Club S-Ion?

A 2.5 inch system would be more ideal, because it would probably have the same power gains with less noise. But good #'s anyway.

Did you order directly from CXRacing? They seem to be the only ones you can get their exhaust from at the moment. How was the shipping time and whatnot?

so does this involve cutting the piping after the cat and welding? or do they include clamps to hold everything together?

i was thinking later on down the line adding a dual exhaust axle back, so does the axle back portion bolt on the same place as the stock exhaust?
