BTW, if the recessed section was supposed to be the body color, then 5-Axis wouldn't have recessed it, they would have pulled it out flush; it's recessed by design to paint it black, and hide the underbody from the rear view. I think if you have it painted black that you'll get the look you want.
It's not my car in the photos. Regardless, if the center section is painted black, or not, I think it would look best of the tips were centered in the openings. I don't think that's too much to ask for an exhaust that costs $400 and was designed specifically for this kit.

I think drewsxb808's RS5.0 above looks great with the entire rear lip painted the body color and his custom tips. But, to each his own.

some dual tips would look good, filling up the entire opening.

OK, I'm re-thinking whether or not I should paint the recessed section on the rear black, or not. Does anyone have a link to a photo of an RS6.0 with the Five Axis kit and the rear center section painted black per the Five Axis recommendation? I can't find a single one. I generally want as much red showing on my car as possible, but may make an exception in this case.

BTW, whether I paint it black or not, I still think the tips should be centered in the openings. That really should not be too much to ask, and should go without saying, for a a dual exhaust that was designed specifically for this lip kit - and costs $85 more that the standard version of the same exhaust. Without that, you're paying $85 more for some slightly longer hangers. Might as well buy the standard version of the kit for $315 and add a couple washers to drop it down enough to clear the lip.

Or, just go with a custom exhaust from a local shop that will cost less and actually fit properly.

custom exhaust...coming from your painter at least im assuming your who im painting these red for.

by the way, small update on the parts, go them all painted on thanks giving and let them dry. came out great!. now im just sanding down the clear with some 800 and going to re-clear them with one last coat to make it smooth and glossy. (also equals less nib and buff time for me)

once the rear lip drys i'll mask it off and spray the black on the section and we will be ready to install!

give me a call or a pm if you have any other questions.

Yep, that's me. Thanks for the update. Just give me a call when you're ready to do the install. It's going to look awesome when it's done. For those following this thread, he's also painting my Forjworks eyelids and engine cover for me - and I plan to peel the A-pillars once the eyelids are installed. So, my car is going to look a lot different in a couple days once it's all done.

Can you recommend a shop for a custom exhaust in the Portland/Beaverton/Hillsboro/Tigard area? I like the sound of the Tsudo, with the silencers removed, but like the option of putting them in for long trips with the kids in the backseat. I'm not thrilled with the appearance of teh Tsudo, but could live with it - if the fitment was better (centered tips in openings). At that price, it should be perfect.

Thanks, I appreciate it. After 25 years of pick-ups and minivans, I'm loving having a car that's fun to drive again. I've done most of the mods myself, and enjoy doing it, but some things (like painting my lip kit and a custom exhaust) are best left to the experts.

Whats up fellas! My vehicle was the one used for the prototype of the Tsudo V. 2, its interesting that the pictures of the rs6 Tsudo look more towards the center, i will be heading to SE Motorsports in a couple of days i will pass along the message. On a side note, I love my Tsudo, it sounds perfect with my current set up WR HEADERS> WR S-PIPE> Resonator>Tsudo. Hit me up if you guys have any questions, I would be happy to help in any way I can.

Digon,

I assume the photos of on the Speed Element web site are your car. This photo shows the tips better centered in the opening in the Five Axis than the previous RS6.0 photos:

So, I'm back to reconsidering the Tsudo dual exhaust. I love the sound and removable trumpet silencers.

Did you do the install, or did Speed Element do it for you? Do you know if any bending was required, or was it a straight bolt on install?

They have lowered the price on their web site from $399.95 to $329.95 (with free shipping). That makes it more appealing - especially if I don't have to pay someone else to do the install or bend the pipe to get the tips properly centered in the openings in the lip kit.

screw the two options, get a dual exhaust like the one troy made for his Pioneer xB. Seriously, I just saw the ride in person and it is the shizzle dizzle. One of the main things that caught my eye was the exhaust.

Do you have a link? I just did a search on this forum on pioneer Xb and the only hit I got was about a stereo.

Thanks,

Is this the one?

Doesn't really go well with the rest of my car. How's it sound? Do you know what mufflers they used?

Yeah, post up a sound clip or vid when you get a chance. I have the TRD CAI, but I'm not planning on deleting the scuba. I'd like to keep my car street legal and passing the DEQ air quality tests (required when renewing the registration).

Definitely sounds AWSOME! I love it! No I had my muffler shop do it. It was ALL BOLT ON, no extra bends were required. However before tightening the bolts I just made sure the tips were aligned. There are a few connecting pieces you have to make sure that the flange connects properly. Nothing to it.

Well, I got lucky and got the side skirts and rear lip off ebay for $202.50. I then bought the front lip from beangarage.com for $300.00.

I had it painted and installed locally for $550.00. The same guy (honey0bucket) painted my Forjworks eyelids and engine cover at the same time for another $100.00.

Throw in my $.02, I have the borla and it sounds good to me. The Tsudo sounds good on the you tube clip though. It seems to sound a little cleaner as stated by others.

Also take into consideration how loud it will be within the car. I notice the Borla between 2k and 2.5k rpm seems to wake up and goes back to sleep. Tsudo tips look really nice and aggressive.

IMO they both look good, and if I had to decide again, I would go with the quieter exhaust, not sure which is, its hard to tell by the you tube sound bytes but the tsudo does sound cleaner at least..
