Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new here...so hello!

I have a 2013 xB, and about 2 months ago, my fuel mileage dropped by about 75-100 miles per tank! However, when I refill, it tells me that I have 2.5 gallons left.

What I mean is, I get about 11.5 gallons in the tank.

All my gauges (including the gas gauge) tell me I'm out of gas.

I also just had the fuel system cleaned but it did nothing, and there is no check engine light that is on.

Questions:

1. Could it be that all my gauges are incorrect (including the fuel gauge)?

2. Is my tank not letting me get a full tank in?

3. The little fuel flap in the filler neck is gone...could that be the culprit? ( 2 mechanics say no).

I'm at a loss on what to do.

Any help or troubleshooting would be appreciated

It's most likely an issue with the fuel sending unit (sensor that controls the fuel level gauge). If that is off, all of your other computed information (inst. mpg, range, etc) will all be off.

Would this affect my fuel mileage? Mine is getting worse but it could be just that I need a tune up??
