Throwing Codes, Losing Acceleration
About 1 year ago I replaced the engine in my Scion xB with a used engine from a junk yard. Within the first 3 days of replacing the engine, the check engine light came on with some codes (below). The engine seems to run just fine. However, ever since then, the codes seem to appear about once a month but often will clear themselves within a week.
None of these codes appeared before the engine swap.
Now in the past week or 2, it could be completely unrelated, but I have had trouble accelerating from rest. Almost like I am in too high of a gear so I push the pedal and I barely move then it finally catches and I take off. Perhaps this is just an indicator of needing new Transmission Fluid?
Codes:
P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1
P2419 - Evaporative Emission System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low
P2402 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit High
P2401 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit Low
P043F - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Reference Orifice High Flow
P043E - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Reference Orifice Low Flow
Any ideas?

Today it added 2 more codes, probably the cause of the slow acceleration:
P0172 - System Too Rich Bank 1
P0101 - Mass or Volume Air Flow A Circuit Range / Performance
None of these codes appeared before the engine swap.

I thought that last 2 codes might be a bad MAF sensor. I tried to clean my current one, but it didn't help. So I ordered a new one from eBay. It still didn't fix the issue, but I'm not sure whether I can trust the MAF sensor. It was listed as a brand new Toyota Denso MAF sensor but it was only being sold for $18 which makes me suspicious.
Any other ideas?
