Default Head swap, Port and Polish.

So, I was recently at my local junkyard. I found a 2006 tC with what looks like a full engine replacement, it was shiny and painted looking good, but nonetheless it was in the junkyard. I was thinking of going back and taking the cylinder head, and then polishing and porting it and place it on my engine.
The head would probably cost less than $125. Is this a. Mild power upgrade worth trying for a daily driver? I have been using my Dremel to polish some other parts and thought this could be a fun project especially if I get that head that looks fairly in good condition and possible less miles on it than my
current motor, @ approximately 89,000 miles.

I'd probably steer away from that one unless you can identify what year the engine actually is. There where some changes made to the 2AZ-FE engine between the 06 and 07 model years. One of which was an increase in compression. I'm not sure if it was just because of the change in the cam profile or if they changed the pistons or shape of the head. if you can research if the head was changed between those years and it was not then I'd say go for it. Worse case your out $125 for the practice of porting and polishing.

I can’t get back to the junkyard till next week, especially with the on an off rains we’ve been having. I did some quick research and saw the compression changes and the considerable Hp increase from the smaller cars to the Rav-4, 160/161 to 177 for the Rav-4, too bad I can’t just find that engine and swap it, as well as polish and port the heads. Don’t have the funds or the time to do that engine swap. Besides I’m not trying to buil a race car, just need a small bump in hp for the rare times I’m getting on and off the freeway.
