Quick pic!

Will take better pics tomorrow when the sun is out. Freaking UPS man came to late.
Sound is awesome!!! Inside the car it still sounds stock while your driving. Outside has a nice deep tone to it. It really surprised me cuz I was expecting it to be really loud since it doesn't really have mufflers on it, just tips.

I think they're just tips. They appear smooth, solid walled from deep within the pipe all the way to exit. I just installed mine this morning, and I would confirm that it sounds great, not fart-can'esque. Barely noticeable within the cabin.

xbbox what is the pipe diamter of Borla exhasut do you know?
is it 2.5" or 2.75 etc..

also do you have blacked out headlights as well are they aftermarket w/real HID projectors?

Is it really a exhaust system or just a axle pipes?
I dont see a muffler there

Not sure of the pipe size, it's whatever is stock on the xB. Maybe somebody else could help you out on this one.

I have my factory projector headlights painted black on the inside of the headlight, none of the lens was touched.

The exhaust is just pipes with tips on them.

I've actually shot Borla an email yesterday asking exactly how this works beings there's no muffler on it, so as soon as I hear something, I'll post it up.

oh ok so its just pipes. I guess Borla uses that huge resonator which compensates the sound. So thats why I think Borla opted out of actually making a real muffler for xB.
I think I'll pass on that. for now

FYI, youall. As posts on the other boards have mentioned, most of the sound dampening in the exhaust occurs in the secondary cat and resonator that the Borla exhaust attaches to.

Speculatively, as an engineer with some acoustics background, I'd also note that each pipe has a acoustical impedance (looking like an inductor in electrical terms). The mass of the air each pipe by itself dampens some of the noise. (The longer the pipe, the greater the inductance and dampening). I'd also note that since the pipes are unequal length, the time delay for the sound to be emitted from each pipe is different. This may result in some cancellation of noise (but I doubt Borla when that sophisticated in their design).

Regardless, based on what I've heard on YouTube, the fact that the pipe is CARB approved (where I live we have stringent emissions inspection), and Borla's own numbers that this pipe is 5 dB louder than stock (while their single pipe is 10dB louder than stock), I'm going to purchase one with 'stimulus' money.

I guess that's how that works, lol! All I know is that I love it. It's quite enough on the inside, and has a nice deep tone on the outside.

of course is Carb approved
the only thing that will mess w/emission is your CAT.
you can put anything after it and you will pass any emissions becuase you didn't mess or take your cat out. you dont even need a carb sticker
