Range After Fill Up only 255 MILES?!?
#23
How the hell are you getting 338 miles??? The range may adjust as you drive. Do you reset your tripometer on fillup and get about the same results? That's a hugh difference. I filled up and my range was I think 280 or 260.. i think it said 280 though.

My mileage is doing better then the original estimate of 338 at the moment. I'm at around 232 miles on the trip A and my range is still like 156 or something! Therefor, I should expect around 340-360 or so miles until I fill-up, very nice

hey guys, sorry to go a little off topic, im curious bout the gas milage also, but what octane gas are u guys running? and what brand? im from cali, i know we got one of the crappiest gas here, but ive heard we can use 87 on our rides, but i feel id rather use 89, 91 is just too expensive here, so wanna know what u guys r using and what brand, thanx

I use Chevron 87 regular exclusively. No pinging, good response. I have 3500 miles on my xB, and have been getting 26-28mpg average - real mileage based on miles driven and gallons at fill-up, not the trip computer (which said about 1.5 mpg more than I actually got). My last two tanks I ran down to the fuel light coming on (353 miles and 332 miles) and when I filled up each time the "miles 'til empty reset automatically to 341 miles each time. My best actual mileage to date was on a trip from Walnut Creek to L.A. (the 353 mile jaunt) which the trip computer said 30.9 mpg, but the real calculation revealed 29.8 mpg.

so the trip computer pretty much adjusts itself to ur driving right? i was thinking of using chevron, see a lot of that here, ive used mobil b4 and i see more response with the shell gas but sometimes hard to find, and chevron ive tried and see some good response from my old wrx, i just dont see the performance response from 76 or mobil, i used to always use 91 on the wrx, are most of u other guys using 87 also? any better performace or gas milage using 89??

You can spend the $$, but unless you have some engine mods, there is NO reason to use anything more than regular 87. Keep in mind, your WRX was a turbo charged hipo engine; this is a 4 cylinder Camry motor.
