Serpentine belt dealer replacement
 

The Toyota stealership near me was running a front end alignment special so reluctantly I went in for an alignment as I just bought new tires last week and have been feathering the edges on my old fronts.
At 92k miles I figure the serpentine belt was due so I told them to throw one on so I wouldn't have to mess with it.
The service person tells me its $280 for Serp belt replacement ,,,I said W H A T THATS RIDICULOUS !!!!!!!!

Can it really be that difficult a job on the xB to justify $280 ? What have you guys paid for Serp belt replacement on a Gen2 xB at your dealership ?

I will obviously do my own belt but in general I loathe going to this dealership. I found them EXTREMELY HIGH pressure during the sales process, unprofessional, the attitude permeates oh well if you don't like it gtfo.
I have a dealership 40 miles from me and I swear if I buy another Toyota I will make the drive and purchase their next time as well as go for service even though its a major inconvenience to drive that far .

Sounds about right for dealer pricing. That's why I don't have anything done at the dealership unless it's warranty work. Just curious, what was their special price for an alignment?

Ouch! It's normally $40 at most alignment shops around here. I can't imagine it would be much different around you.
