I bolted on the DC Sports Axle Back and then took it to my local custom shop that a buddy of mine works at and had a Thrush glass pack welded in. On the gas it's a little loud but at speed it's not bad. Not raspy or hondaesque...

I noticed a 600rpm drop at speed (62mph) instead of cruising at 3100RPM I cruise at 2500rpm...created some flow there. Just the axle back netted me 1.8 mpgs so I'm curious to see if I get a few more...almost to 36 mpgs
here are some pictures & a crappy video:

RPM has nothing to do with exhaust flow, or any other motor modification.

62mph at3,000 RPMs with always be 62MPH at 3000 RPMs unless you are swapping gears or a final drive in the transmission.

elsenordave 08-20-2012 10:06 PM

It's simply an observation that the engine is working less to maintain speed....

TheQuietThings 08-20-2012 10:17 PM

Placebo, trust me.

elsenordave 08-20-2012 10:18 PM

So why am I 600rpm less at speed now?

TheQuietThings 08-20-2012 10:22 PM

Did you change anything in the transmission?
If the answer is no then it isnt.

Just think about it, and think logically about how gears (even the ones not in cars) work. Even though less force may be required to move them now, they will still move at the same speed in conjunction with each other unless one of them is altered.

elsenordave 08-20-2012 10:24 PM

Nope just scuba delete and axle back...

TheQuietThings 08-20-2012 10:27 PM

so then your RPM is the same as it was prior to any modification.

elsenordave 08-20-2012 10:34 PM

It's not though...I am at speed on the same route 600 rpm less...

TheQuietThings 08-20-2012 10:47 PM

Ok, if you say so. But google it, and know that what youre trying to convince me of is impossible.

elsenordave 08-21-2012 12:13 AM

I'm not arguing just making the observation...

x2. Your RPMs shouldn't change at all. If it really is down, you need to get it looked at.

I'll scan it with the tech stream at work tomorrow but I think it's a by product of the engine not having to work as hard since I took the restrictive elements out...

You look even dumber with that wink face. We wouldn't be so adamant about explaining how your mistaken if we didn't know what we were talking about. So please do not act like you pulled one over on us.

DJ_FroZone 08-21-2012 12:05 PM

Just so you understand mate. ITs dope that you had that done and im sure the car is performing better. However your RPM rates will never change because of a flow. I have header/intake/2.5 exhaust cat back. n some other things. My rpm wont change. RPM is solely based on gearing.

2011xb4me 08-21-2012 12:52 PM

this might be a dumb question, but will it pass smog like this?

elsenordave 08-21-2012 03:38 PM

I understand what y'all are saying but I'm just giving my observation...I could care less @criminaltc what you think, be as adamant as you want, I made a simple observation and was sharing it. I have nothing to gain here...

jct 08-21-2012 04:12 PM

i changed my oil and my rpm's is at 1800 at 65 mph

Not a prayer of a chance in Cali, but he's in Hawaii... :ponder:

VENisME 08-21-2012 08:17 PM

No smog in Hawaii, but there is recon and safety check.
