Spun bearing in my 2011 xB w/ only 123k miles

Firstly, I've performed regular maintenance on the car. I don't beat on it.

It spun the #3 bearing late last week. It's knocking like crazy. I'm wondering if this could in any way be related to the oil consumption issue. Thought I'd read that it was more piston ring related, but guess you never know.

If I end up having to replace the engine, is the RAV4 2AZ the best one to get?

How low was your oil when the bearing spun?

Scream 01-18-2016 01:58 PM

It was about a quart low

or upgrade to a 2 AR out of a newer RAV4, Camry, or tC.
or get silly and get the 8AR-FTS along with the 6 speed out of a NX200t for 235hp 2L turbo.
