Squeaky mount??? perhaps
Need some diagnostic help here
Our scion has been making an odd squeak. Mostly when luke warm and when stopping at a light.
A shift into neutral can get rid of the noise. When its warmed up, there is usually no issue.
Dash cam video is included to show the noise at a stop, but the volume is low, so you need to crank up the volume - my software won't adjust it...
Don't forget to turn it down at the red warning letters!!!
So what is it?
Seems like the short spray of tire lube has quelled the noise for now. The engine doesn't move much, so perhaps just an early warning sign of a mount failure??
The car is 17 years old, so...

Couldn't hear the noise at all but I wouldn't be surprised if the mounts are wearing out after 17 years. I ended up changing mine after 12 years but also had 160k+ miles on them. I will say that your engine sounds abnormally loud. You may want to check the condition of either the idler pulley or the pulley on the back of the engine in place of where the power steering pump goes. Mine was making a rattling noise similar to your video and that was the cause.
I can't control the noise level on my camera. It boosts quiet noises, then cuts loud noises down.
Kind of like auto focus... more like auto blur...
I think it sounds loud because I'm in a garage that echo's. The sound is subtle. Most notable in the dash cam video, where it cuts out the engine noise... but you have to crank the speakers to max to hear the squeak as I change from Drive to Neutral and back again.
