Hey everybody,

I’ve searched 2AZ-FE balanceshafts quite a bit, and all I find are discussions about how to remove them and plug the oil supply hole, or how to install them when the engine is removed from the vehicle and upside down on an engine stand (in accordance with the Field Service Manual).

Does anyone know how to properly install the balanceshaft assembly with the engine in the car??? The service manual uses a key groove on the crank shaft that’s only visible with the transmission removed. Is there a way to use the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley, along with the timing marks on the balanceshafts, to re-install the assembly in its stock configuration?

Advice from anyone with actual experience doing this and/or who knows whether or not it can be done would be hugely appreciated.
