Are there any bulletins on the xB A/C? I'm seeing the same issue across 2 cars
 

I've got an 08 xB and 15 xB and both have the same weird problem. When it is hot (95+ degrees), the A/C does not want to work the first time you use it for the day. It will blow hot air for miles and miles until it finally decides to run and begin cooling the air. Both cars have done this. I swapped the A/C amplifier between them and one box seems only slightly better than the other, but both boxes do it. Something about this just smells of a common issue that I have to wonder if there is a bulletin on.

I am really glad I am not the only one with this problem...The A/C literally works when it wants too...I have yet to figure out what the problem is myself.

have you all checked your low and high side pressures?

I had to google what an A/C amplifier was. One Toyota site said there was an adjustment knob??? IDK could be all bogus
Our 2009 works fine in PHX heat... Does the clutch not engage then?
