Transmission change?
A checkup from the neck up?
Seriously, if you really want a M/T, the best way is to trade in your auto XB for a M/T XB. Swapping trannies is a lot of work and expense to devalue your XB and only worth it if you have several thousand $$$ already invested in something like a custom paint job that you can't simply transfer to the new car.

Yes but not everyone has the tools, garage, skills and free time to make it worthwhile. The OP stuck me as someone who might be better off trading cars. In the best case, you could sell and buy privately and possibly even make money on the car swap since the auto is worth more. OTOH, in the worst case trading in for a new M/T XB could cost ~$5000.

Another thing to factor in is the amount of $ you can get for selling your freshly removed auto trans.
I have to agree with fred though, if you aren't at least fairly mechanically inclined, I would recommend trading.
