Default What is the best current air intake....Not for the reason you think lol

This is NOT about trying to get more performance, I'm just tired of the god damn clips breaking on the stock airbox and I'm not going to pay $500 for a new one only for it to happen again because it always does. This is my third xB2 and it's happened to all of them I'm over it. I have zip ties holding it together now. I live in Florida it gets hot as hell here so that's probably the main problem, not sure if you northern guys have the same issue but it's a common one.

My first one (a 2012 RIP) about seven years ago when it happened I got the cheapest ebay intake I could find for it (I was broke), it was ok but too much intake noise for me I didn't really like it but it got the job done for cheap. After that one got totaled, on my second one (a 2013) it happened again and I tried JB welding the clips back on lol that of course didn't work so I got a used airbox off ebay and one of those broke shortly after before I sold it for the '15 I have now which currently has two broken and one hanging on for dear life.

So if I'm gonna do this I wanna do it right and get the best one, if the cheap ebay intakes are fine I guess I'll just get one of those, but if the K&N TYPHOON is the most awesome and best ever then I'll get that cuz I'm not completely broke like I was before.

I know it won't make any difference in power I don't care about that, I just want good build/filter quality and one that doesn't sound like I'm not running any air filer at all lol. Trust me I'd rather keep the airbox but I'm sick of this sh**

Do you have a picture of the breaks?
The clips on my '09 are just fine and they pop on and off quite easily.
The car lives in Phoenix = heat + ozone. It does only have 84K on it though.

Perhaps something isn't lining up correctly when putting it back on??
JB weld usually doesn't work well on plastic, but I am wondering if it can be fixed with some coat hanger wire or other methods...

There are some ideas in this video

I think I had to rivet some plates on after ^^^this one failed^^^
