What is a good cold air intake?
Hey, I got a 010 xb and looking for a cold air intake. What is a good one for fairly reasonable price?
thanks chris |
Gonna have to say Injen.
|
all intakes do the same thing i say get the cheapest one u can find!
|
A CAI is not forced induction but Tenzo-R is the bang for the buck champ, IMO.
|
i just put that sweet stretchy vacuum tube with a nos sticker on it...+45 hp no big deal :)
|
there will awalys be a debate where or not All CAI do the samethingh i mean we all know it bring on more air now the big question is do different manfatures are better then others might be the case but most people cant dump $200-$300 on a Piece of piping so they buy a cheap one from ebay then buy a quality filter and boom your good..so its the filter that makes the difference from what i heard...i have a 06 tc with a Injen CAI yea i spent $$on it....but again i beleive all intakes arent the same they might do the same but the filters or different
|
i went with the "cheaper" approach by buying a bomz one for my tC because i had one for my old honda. well it keeps tripping the check engine light. i took it off and am saving my money for a fujita. just my experience from going with the cheap way
|
Injen, nothing else to say.
|
cool guys, yeah im new to the site and realized i had it in the wrong section. But its cool, still answered my question. lol
thanks |

if they're made with the same material, then they are pretty much the same. Name brands just bump up there price because of their name haha |
AEM and TRD. Reason I say that, is fit and finish and dyno numbers. I think Injen would be, but I have not seen dyno numbers.
Also, the TRD is good to ease the mind on hydrolocking. |
injen is by far the best out of all of them.
|
Opinion, pushed off as fact ,is such a common thing on forums...
|
thanks guys this really narrows it down. I think i have it down to Aem, Injen, or the TRD.

Love my TRD CAI. I paid $275.40 for mine. Not cheap, but it's very well made, looks great and was easy to install.

Not a bad price for TRD. Looks real nice to.

Even though I have a 2009, I ordered the one for the 2008 xB - PTR03-52082 (it was $23.00 cheaper), knowing it would fit. They actuallly sent me the current version PTR03-52100 with a note in the box that the one I ordered had been discontinued and replaced wit the one they shipped. Their shipping rates were also very reasonable. I ordered the CAI, front strut brace, fog lights and TRD oil filler cap and they charged less that $15.00 shipping (from Wisconsin to Oregon) for everything. Definitely recommended. PDX_xB |
The reson why I say Injen is better because all the others say they bost hp by 12-15 Injen is 14-15 so it might give you up to 16 hp. You never no just my opinion.
