Default xB Factory Oil Filter Update

Yesterday I changed the oil in my xB for the very first time. I noticed that the oil filter I removed looked similar to, but not exactly like the original and carried a different part number. I double checked the part number online and found that I DID INDEED buy a case of the correct replacement filters from Toyota and that they replaced the original part number. The original protruded at the threaded fitting and gave a few extra turns. The original had a thicker contacting o-ring area. The original also had a red anti-drain-back valve and the new one is black and doesn't look as robust. Also the seams on the old one looks riveted and heavier duty and these are just rolled. The originals are made in Japan and the new ones say Taiwan. The new number is 90915-YZZF1. I WONDER WHAT OTHER DIFFERENCES THERE ARE THAT ARE NOT VISIBLE?

Easy way to not worry is to avoid the scenario and get a mobi1 extended performance (or any champion labs filter), a wix, or any other quality reliable filter from your auto parts store and drive on.

Trust me as someone who has done a lot of oil analysis and tried a lot of oils, most any "good" oil in the right weight and reliable filter will produce great results on most any cars.
