08 + up xB Wiring for Management

Mods, maybe we can make this a sticky or tech article so this stays at the top for future info?

Ok, here is a list I have come up with of locations for wires off of the ECU for installing an F/IC, Emanage, etc. I will add locations and colors as needed. This so far is what I know is needed, so we will start here.

There are two connectors off of the ECU. They are the A36 & B33 Connectors. The A36 is the smaller, the B33 is the larger. These will be referred to as "A" and "B". Numbering is from left to right with the harness plugged into the unit, so you would be looking at where the wires go in when counting.

This list is to the best of my knowledge and MAY (but probably doesnt) contain errors, so please double check before cutting, splicing, soldering, etc.

Intake Air temp - B65 PINK
RPM - B122 WHITE
TPS - B115 Light Green
Constant 12v - A20 PINK
Switched 12v - A2 BLACK
Intake Air Volume - B118 VIOLET
Knock Sensor - B110 BLACK
A/F Ratio - B112 BLACK
Coil 1 - B85 White/Light Blue Stripe
Coil 2 - B84 BLACK
Coil 3 - B83 BLUE/Black Stripe
Coil 4 - B82 BLACK
Injector 1 - B108 VIOLET
Injector 2 - B107 YELLOW
Injector 3 - B106 GREEN
Injector 4 - B105 Light GREEN

Well this is what I had which I posted a while back. I mean there is even a link to shematics so you can double check with pics of the connectors.

"Alright just finished figuring it all out, I think lol. Here is a link for the wiring shematics in pdf for cross reference. Just follow aem instructions on which cables to intercept or tap. Use at your own risk I assume no liability for the accuracy of this info. If anyone finds errors please point them out. Good Luck!

exactly what i had i had to trace all mine and do a test i confirm the accuracy of this to the fullest and i will take responsibility if you mess your car up for me the pay back will be a shiny piece of pooooo lol thanks for posting this im to lazy lol

homerhitta 03-04-2009 04:02 AM

Wow, you guys are the best! Thanks for doing the R&D

bluesciontc 03-04-2009 08:52 PM

Project boost box will start very very soon. Good news for you Homerhitta

homerhitta 03-05-2009 01:23 AM

YEA!!!!!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!

bb_ist 03-05-2009 02:58 AM

so.. can you use one of those quick splice things for the wiring? or does it have to be strip and solder?

lastlookcustoms 03-05-2009 01:54 PM

^^^NO!

Technically you could, but you are wiring engine management not fog lights. If something shorts out, you can do damage. Definitley strip and solder everything!

coryjames 04-13-2009 11:32 PM

got a question what wire is the tps wire and what wire is the main feed for the ignition coils?

lastlookcustoms 04-14-2009 01:03 PM

The TPS wire is listed in the top post and I just went through the wiring book and the only feeds for the coils are also listed in the top post.

coryjames 04-15-2009 01:01 AM

found the wires there is a common red wire that goes into 4 for the coils its the read wires at all coils
and the tps signal is vpa 55a at the pedal or 115a at the tb

I cant seem to find where they connect to on the aem wiring harness.

also the top post contains ignition coils the second post does not.

Help!!! Where is the engine control unit located in the 2nd generation 2008 xB2?! I ordered a boomslang harness and have an EMS-4 sitting on my desk, but have no idea where the ECU is located. I don't want to dismantle the whole dash and realize it's that aluminum box in the engine bay under my air filter box.

It's the aluminum box in the engine bay under your air filter box.

That being said there is a company that has cracked the Toyota ECU and can make it work with boost on our engines. Have a look at Orange Virus Tuning, www.ovtuned.com

 ... I already have the EMS-4, and I really don't want to send it back. I really wanted to learn how to tune myself ... These Orange Virus guys seem very proprietary ... I don't want to deal with someone that's not local ...

Yeah, I can understand that. I was sort of looking forward to tuning my FI/C as well but with all the stuff they have access to in the ECU and everything I'm doing to the engine it just didn't make sense for me to deal with it. I've got too much other stuff to take care of. I'm willing to leave the tuning to someone else.
