Looking into turboing my 08 xB. Thinking about piecing together a cheap kit with ebay bits. SMIC and only 5 or 6psi. possibly get a used turbo from a subaru or saab though I don't know if the inlets / outlets will cause lots of issues there. The expensive bit will be the EMS / FIC and a tune. are there any other low boost builds around?

 

Chris, at 5-6 psi you probably won't need to bother with an IC. As for the tune, have a look at having the ECU flashed with the TRD tC supercharger tune. That is the boost level that it was designed for. It'd be a cheaper alternative to going with an EMS/FIC but of course has no future upgradeability. If you decide to go FIC, I have a pin out and wiring schematic for it.

Who can flash the ECU? I didn't think that was a possibility with our ECU's?
