TRD has not released the output of the supercharger yet. It is currently assumed to be at +40 hp, +40 lb-ft-- similar to the tC.

That's just the part. THe installation looks very similar to the tC so far, so our price would be in the $500-$550 ballpark.

We'll see how it goes though It better have more juice for that price

Or you could get the S/C and add a 9.5 psi NHT pulley and produce about 250 hp like some of the TC guys have. Pretty much a wash at that point, and I don't see why anyne would want to go higher HP than that with stock internals.

Unless your racing, if you are why are you doing it with a BOX, the xB hardly needs anything over 200hp anyhow. At that weight it's got more power to weight ratio than a stock V6 Mustang.

I just don't see the point of going crazy with power for the xB. If you want to do that you should have started with a more capable car.

The little info I have seen is that TRD intended on a 200hp goal.

At scion united they had a demo going of the install and the tech said about 204hp.

oh no not 200 hp and the box is capable its easy to buy a fast car and makt faster but a slow car made into a rocket is better and u know it 300 hp on stock internals is ok think u have to put a 9!5 pully on i will be a 8psi so tell me whats harder on the motor

It's hope, not anticipation.

TRD released numbers are crank rated, so it sounds like the 40hp gain as we were expecting. I didn't know the xB kit was coming out until the released a part number a few months back. That part number received the dreaded D4 status (Stop Sale) and then a DD status (discontinued part number). This part number is a newer version and at a higher price point, so, hopefully, we'll see something improved over the tC's charger.

Just b/c you happen to go another route on your car does not mean the TRD S/C is "worthless." If you go the pulley route it is plenty capable to prouce a lot of power, more than you'll ever need. IT doesn't matter the Turbo produces more power cheaper. A lot of folks would rather just throw on the TRD, and keep the warranty and reliability 100% in tact.

Yea... I would think most people know the reality: xB != race car. With that said, it's just livening up the daily driving experience and getting some power out of the box.

Grated, at this price point, it's a pretty steep modification, but it's worth it to most people.

For example, my dinosaur Supra (89 7M-GTE) is heavy and slow, but still fun to drive. Many people question my choice to purchase this dinosaur and fix it up-- it's always been a car I've wanted (love the styling) and gets the job done. Not everyone wants an overpowered car on the road- but 300 rwhp is more than enough in most cases.

yeah the xb does have alot of potential what would break a sti's heart more then to get smoked by a scion xb thats just priceless lol

I don't think the warranty will remain in tact after you install a supercharger. It is probably intended for off road use only.

My understanding is that part of the reason why it took TRD so long to bring the SC out for the xB was that it had to pass CA's smog test(strictest in the nation and if it passed CA, it'll pass anywhere else). The TRD supercharger maintains the warranty completely (parts and install if Scion does the install / or just the parts if you install yourself).

That's the real attraction to sticking with TRD (and paying that extra $$$) - street-legal and everything is inclusive in the warranty since it's all from Toyota.
