2nd Gen Scion xB Bazooka Amplified Enclosures
If you haven't seen these before, Bazooka and Toyota teamed up to provide an amplified 8" subwoofer and enclosure for the 2nd Gen Scion xB. It is a pretty sweet setup, it stays out of the way and off to the side, while using factory wiring connections for signal, and power! This means you can add some thump without having to worry about all of the cables, connections, adapters, or even who will install it. This is a perfect setup for the DIY'ers looking to add a little something to make their ride sound a bit sweeter.
You can check them out on Bazooka's website

Installation isn't too bad as long as you are comfortable removing interior panels. I would rate the job ar intermediate and should take 2-3 hours to complete. You will need to remove the panel it mounts to and the railing leading up to the front of the car. After that you route the wiring harness to the front and remove the radio, connect the harness and reinstall the radio and railing, drill two holes in the panel and attach the mounting hardware, reinstall the panel and then mount the sub.
Here is the manual. It may look complicated at first but that is because they carefully point out each detail of the install. The instructions are very thorough.

Does anyone have this Bazooka OEM sub connected to the Alpine premium audio head unit? I have '11 XB with the Scion Alpine premium audio but having trouble getting the Bazooka sub to work. The connections on the HU match up with the T-connector that came with the sub, but the sub does not seem to power on (light on sub does not come on). The functions on the HU seem to work as per normal but the sub does not come on at all. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

I bought one of these last year and had a local dealership install it. The tech charged me around $100 for the install (worth every penny) and said he probably undercharged. I love the little thumper! fattens up the bottom end nicely without shaking the fasteners loose and matches the stock system well. It is also nice that it takes up virtially no storage capacity in the back.
If you need serious thumpage, look elsewhere, but for the price it's a good deal and works well.
