Default Automatic Door Locking and Unlocking

Trying to set my locks to where they lock with speed and unlock with the drivers door.

Following the steps

ON position
Neutral
Holding down unlock / lock for 5 seconds within 10 seconds of turning on

Not working. Any input?

Figured it out, you have to cancel the current mode, THEN program the new mode.

The door lock with speed is nice, about 13-14mph. If you stop, someone gets out, then go again, the door relocks.

Unlocking with drivers door is nice, because it only unlocks the whole car if its turned off, so if you get out and leave the car running, the drivers door is the only one unlocked.

In the stock mode, the lock with drive was nice, but IMHO unlocking all doors in park is unsafe.

Do you want to describe exactly how it is you're doing this?

Its in the front part of the owners manual, there are steps for setting lock mode to either lock the doors in any gear other than park, or lock them over 12 mph.

Unlock modes are either when its put into park, or when you open the drivers door when the car is off.

To turn lock with gear selection on/off:

turn key to on
hold down the lock button on the drivers door for 5 seconds, then release.

to turn on/off lock with speed:

turn key to on
move gear selector to neutral
hold down lock for 5 seconds

To turn on/off unlock with gear selector:

turn key to on
hold down unlock for 5 seconds then release

To turn on/off unlock with drivers door:

turn key to on
place car in neutral
hold down unlock for 5 seconds

if the code takes, the locks will cycle after you release the button. Once you turn the key to on, you have 10 seconds to press and hold the lock/unlock key.

Also, you have to turn off whatever mode you are in, before you can turn on the new mode. This was my first mistake, and I could not get anything to change.

Or, just go to dealer and have them hook up computer and do this for you. supposed to get this one time for free, i have mine where when i turn off car, and open just drivers door, only that door opens, and it locks when i hit 11ish mph. i also turned off the beeping for the seat belt, only flashes. you would be amazed what options you can mess with.

Im surprised they would do it for free, most dealers charge for stuff like that. There is also the trouble of taking it in, when I did it in my garage in 5 minutes.

Andrey, did you turn off the current setting (lock and unlock with gear selector) before trying to turn on the new setting?

You cannot jump from one feature to the next, the current must be turned off first.

I tried to do the steps for turning off the locking when u shift out of park -
To turn lock with gear selection on/off:
turn key to on
hold down the lock button on the drivers door for 5 seconds, then release.

After I held the button for 5 seconds nothing happened...so I tried all of the other things on there to see if I would get any confirmation for ANYTHING but nothing happened.

I need to get my hands on a manual, the beeping with the seatbelts is annoying! I put my backpack on the passenger seat all the time, and it's heavy enough to think that there is someone sitting there.

Just tried it again, worked perfectly! Not sure what I was doing wrong the first time though.

What are the instructions for making the seatbelt not beep?

When I drove a Matrix, there were instructions on how to remove the seatbelt beep and it worked perfectly. I tried on the xB2 and didnt work.

I had to try about ten times before it took, sometimes it just takes a little bit of patience and tweaking the steps that you're doing. For example, if it says that you need to be in park and you're already in park, try shifting out of park and back again, it may work after trying that. 😊

the seat belt beep is changed through a two way communication scan tool if i remember correctly, usually a dealer or good mechanic can take care of that for you. Or if you'd rather buy the scanner yourself they can be bought for around $600
