Hello,

I'm wondering if a AXCP-Q14U (T10015) OEM Radio will work with a 2009 xB?

Yes, it works properly in my 2009 xB.

My setup is:

* T10015 head unit with harness/wires ($200 on craigslist; you must get both wires or you'll have to buy them separately for a lot of $)
* PT296-00142 bespoke navigation modules ($175 on eBay)
* PT546-74120MC bluetooth microphone ($58 on eBay)
* 16 pin toyota backup camera adapter and eBay backup camera (about $50 combined)
* PAC line-out converter for subwoofer amp ($12 on amazon)

This gives me all features including navigation, backup camera, Bluetooth voice control, etc., and it integrates perfectly with my IS250 steering wheel without any adapters.

On the topic of forum activity, the xB scene has really died down. You're got this site, NewscionxB, and Clubxb if you want somewhere active. Some of the others (Scikotics and such) are pretty much dead.

Definitely go with the T10015; its a better unit with a much bigger screen.

Ok. I went ahead with the T10015. Can this plug right into my xB without the extra stuff at first.

Until I get enough $$ for the rest? Which wire harness are you referring to?

Yes, provided you have the cables required for it (this is two separate harnesses):

Make sure you get those with the radio; I believe they are rather expensive to buy separately.

Note that the Bluetooth voice commands and calling will not work without a microphone installed.

Man! I think the one I bought doesn't have the harness...I asked the seller, but have already paid for the item

That's the cable for adding a USB port.

You can find a generic version for about $14 shipped on eBay if you want to add that feature.

The navigation module is hit and miss.

Bad:

* The actual navigation is, like pretty much all factory navigation setups, really stupid. Your phone will do a much, much better job.
* Bluetooth connectivity is very slow to load; expect 20-40 seconds each time you get in the car.

Good:

* The module doesn't just add nav; it replaces a lot of the menus. Bluetooth audio has a much better menu with better controls, album art, etc.,
and the phone menus and options are awesome.
* Having OEM Scion Navigation increases the value of your car (which is rare since most modifications do the opposite)

To clarify; I'd totally buy the Nav module again for $175 or less, but it's not worth the normal price.

Yeah if I seen it for 175 I would buy it but it seems like they are going for 500+ if I'm looking at the right product.

The two compatible models are (you just need one of them):

PT296-00142-AA
PT296-00140-AA

You'll see them listed without the -AA sometimes. I'm told that 00140 has older maps than 00142, but the navigation is pretty cheesy as it is, so I would just get whatever is cheap.

There are two items you absolutely must get with it:

* GPS antenna
* Cable (connects it to your existing head unit)

It's also good to get the mounting brackets (PT591-00140) but you can make some yourself out of thin metal or plastic and a drill bit if needed.

Yes; here's a pretty good quality unit for $10.49 that will let you hook up an amplifier for a sub:

I got the Head Unit all hooked up and it is working. I just need to get the Bluetooth mic and maybe run into the Nav module :/

Oh, one more thing. I noticed that on the wiring harness there are one plug that is empty it's square and then
Another plug that was on the stock HU that doesn't have a place to connect on the new HU.

Sorry for my vague explanation, I just don't know what it's called!

Default Update

Wondering if anyone here has current links to what i would need to get full functionality with swapping an AXCP-Q14U(part# PT296-00142)
for the 2009 xB original head unit (part# PT546-00080). there is no good information available on if it's even possible besides this thread basically.
