Convert unused ipod port to 5V USB charger
ipod connector to multipurpose 5V USB charger!!! (Like new 2013 USB port)
I have scion xb 2009. I never use ipod for music. I have OEM ipod connector cable(2nd gen??) which came with car.
I want to do....
I believe ipod connection have 12V supply from some of wires attached to it.
Would like to take power supply wires for that ipod connector and attach some converter to make it 5V USB charger.
I can remove/chop off other audio signal wires from that connector as i donot use ipod..
Looked on ebay but it is 30 pin 12v to 30 pin 5V converter. no use to make it multipurpose USB charger
How to do it? i am ok with opening box, soldering etc.
