Keyless entry light flash
Ok so I need the help of some of you electronics geniuses out there. As you may know, when you upgrade your tail/turn lights to LED bulbs you get hyperflash. The easiest way around this is to buy an LED flasher and replace the stock one with it. All's fine and dandy except that it is well known that you will lose your light flash when locking/unlocking with the keyless entry remote (I still to this day do not understand why this flasher disables that function).
This is a tad frustrating as I like to be able to visually verify and see the lights flash when I push the remote (especially in dark garages or lots).
So I decided to crack open the driver side kick panel armed with my multimeter, the xB2 wiring diagram, and a 12V test light and see if I could find some way to bypass the flasher relay and still make my parking lights blink.
But after literally hours of trying, I was not able to find any kind of switching power that is activated/deactivated with the lock/unlock buttons on the remote. My idea was to tap into anything I found and run wires to a relay that is hooked up to the parking light power.
Sooooo, first of all, is there any way easier than what I'm trying to accomplish this? And if not, does anyone know of a power source wire that pulses when the keyless remote is used? Any help is greatly appreciated!

That very well could be true. I'm trying to remember and I think I bought my LED flasher around a year and half ago and I'm pretty sure I got it from autolumination.com
If anyone else knows of a newer LED flasher that solves this issue, I appreciate it!

Before I go any further, I've done some more investigating and apparently there are two other LED flashers that supposedly do not disable the keyless entry flash. The first is the V-LEDs p/n CF1804 for $16.99 plus shipping but it is currently out of stock. The other option is the Tridon LM449 from autozone for $19.99. There is one available in town so I'll be stopping by to pick it up on my way home from work and try it out. If it works, I'll let y'all know!
Well the Tridon flasher from Autozone was a bust. Not only did it not make the keyless flash, it straight up didn't work at ALL! No hazards, no turn signals. So i guess I'll be returning that one tomorrow. Since the V-LEDs version is on backorder for now, I'm cracking into my car's wiring to find the keyless module and not having much luck. I'm testing every wire I can but its difficult to know what will trip it since some if the wires are negative polarity and others positive.
I really want my lights to flash damnit! There is one final option I could resort to and that is to tap into the 5V power running to the beeper/piezo in the driver side fender. Since its only 5 volts it won't trip a standard 12V relay. I would have to use an N-channel MOSFET which I really don't know how to wire up so I'm using that as a last resort.
So either I find a switching power wire under the dash for the keyless entry, order the VLED flasher, or put in a MOSFET. All this pain for some freakin lights! Sometimes I wish I had gotten an EE degree instead!

Ok, well I tried using the lock power wires to control the light flash and of course I don't like it because now any time I turn on my lights, it sends back voltage to the lock motors and blows a fuse.
I can not seem for the love of me to find the actual remote keyless module that sends the initial voltage to the lock motors and flasher relay. If I can find that, then I know that the lights will only flash with the lock/unlock keyless button (with a relay wired in, of course).
Once I get this figured out, my plan is also to wire in a Directed siren to replace the wimpy piezo for my chirp.

Tenshun -
Did you replace all 4 of your lights with LEDs, or just 2? I replaced only my front 2 signals with switchback amber/white LEDs, and I didn't want to go the resistor route to stop the hyperflash. So after trying out MANY LED flashers purchased through ebay and other sites, the one that worked perfectly for me was... the Tridon LM449 from Autozone. No hyperflash, switchbacks change colors great, hazards functioning, and I still have my locking/unlocking chirps. Is it possible that you just got a defective flasher? My apologies if you've already solved your problem - I haven't been on the forum for a while...

I was looking at the LM449 also. I have not gotten my LED's yet and was also wondering if it keeps everything stock.
I want to do all 4 with regular amber LED's. I wonder if it is a issue only if you use 4?

The Tridon flasher is SUPPOSED to work with 2 or 4 LEDs, and also still work if you return to your stock bulbs. I never tried it with 4 LEDs, but I have tried it with the stock bulbs, and everything still worked... well, at least with Tridon flasher I got it worked...

The hands down winning flasher for this car that preserves keyless entry ("remote confirmation") flashes... and handles any combo of LED signal bulbs is a drop-in flasher replacement called TapTurn. Google 'tapturn flasher' it's made by AutoWindow web order not in stores.
Solves the hyperblink problem, but that's not even its main purpose - adds one-touch signaling. And has wig-wag hazard mode if you're into that kinda thing.
Got one in my car!
Lotsa FRS buddies raving about it in ft86 forum... just saying.
