premium head unit
anyone know how to remove. my new box was totaled and insurance is not covering
please help. Later. |
The trim piece that includes the vents just pops out. Get a firm grip on the outsides of it and pull. Be careful to not break it, of course. Then the bottom piece, the piece that is kind of a matte finish, comes out as well. Then use a 10mm socket, extension, and ratchet of your choice to pull out the 4 bolts that secure the H/U to your dash. Everything unplugs. You may have to use a little screw driver to push on the release tabs, but it's not too bad!

Just curious, but how did your car get totalled and why won't insurance cover it? Were you drinking or racing or something?
|
no drinking, or racing at all... too old for that...i was hit on a freeway on ramp and the damage was major and insurance won't fix...so i'm taking all my accessories i put in. ..h/u, leather seats and wheels.
bought a new box and rebuilding. |
Ins won't fix!?
What Ins is this, pray tell. |
It sounds like they're totalling it.
Sometimes vehicles are too far damaged to fix. |
When he says not covering that doesn't make sense to me though. Totalling I understand, but they cover that, he made no mention of it and is saying not covered. /me: confused
|
I think what he means is the insurance isn't covering the additional cost of the premium head unit and other accessories he's added.
