sooo...you can't put the front seat down forward?

Is this correct? can't lay it forward to use for larger storage like a 8' 2x4?

FatBoyTrucker 07-12-2011 01:02 AM

if you mean the passenger seat, no. you cant lay it flat. the bench seats both lay flat though

eignub 07-12-2011 04:24 AM

that cant be! i was able to fit an 8 foot aluminum step ladder in my xa

Mdiesel64 07-13-2011 04:10 AM

you could always just fold it all the way back, and put whatever it is, in. it's almost flat :icon_juggle:

and thats with the seats up, and a baby seat. and yes, i was able to close the hatch no problem.

Mister_D 07-13-2011 10:53 AM

you could have remove the headrest and fold down the rear seats... imo

That looks like a 6 foot ladder to me. :ponder:
(But still impressive.)

KaneoheKoa 07-16-2011 10:27 AM

There's a child seat in the back middle, hence no laying down the back seat. Cramming in a ladder with the seat up is far easier than properly fastening a child seat! And I do think it's a 6 ft ladder (only 5 rungs), but a mighty accomplishment getting in there!

eignub 07-17-2011 07:44 AM

might be only 6, not sure now, but there was still a little bit of room, so im sure if the seats where folded down the guy would have room for his 2x4s. and yep kaneohekoa, you must have kids if you know about fighting with a child seat.

KaneoheKoa 07-19-2011 07:54 AM

Actually eignub, I don't have any kids, but hauled enough of my friend's kids around to know that no has yet invented an easy to install child seat. Almost all of them require you to have the kids remain in the house with the windows and doors closed, as the language coming from the car as the owner tries to install the child seat is somewhat colorful and will make longshoremen blush.

Dear God that looks like a safety hazard! lol

That's a step toward a projectile! Ha ha, I slay myself sometimes

yeah, i couldnt see out of the entire passengers side, or rear.

pyroman131 07-20-2011 04:25 PM

Which is more of a hazard?

1. Having a ladder that can shoot through the front or rear windshield

or

2. Having a driver, passenger, the seats down, 5 airport bags, and 4 people crammed into the back.

Sure, it sounds like I'm trafficking people, but nope! I was just picking up some friends from the airport. lol

CIONIDE 07-20-2011 06:02 PM

If the 4 people crammed in the back were not in seats with seat belts, then #2 is the more hazardous... and illegal.

Hey there wasn't a cop around, so it's not illegal! lol

wtf! how is that much even possible?!

KaneoheKoa 07-22-2011 10:05 AM

The couple must have been strung out on something, because they wanted to drive to Maryland! If I'm not mistaken, there are Home Depots in that state.

Shadezz 07-22-2011 01:03 PM

Is this the reason VW never got into truck sales?
