Stock Stereo using USB rearranging song order.
Anyone notice that with the stock stereo unit in the Xb (2010), when you plug in a USB stick, it will play the mp3s in your folder(s) but in a weird order.
I put a single folder on the stick with 30 files and for some reason instead of playing the first file it will pull a different file starting with "L". Ignores the fact the first file starts with 01. |
yessss, i thought it was just the way my mp3 files were tagged or something. good thing its not just me.

It doesn't do it when there's fewer songs in the folder.
It will also mix up the folders if you meticulously name them in numerical or alphabetical order. Lame. |
I thought I messed up on my USB when the songs got mixed up. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one. Totally bypassed the problem by installing a Sony HU (which doesn't mess my lists).

Just read the stock HU manual.
From what I read the HU decides what order to play folders??? And then it plays the MP3s in the order they were copied onto the USBs. It completely ignores ID3 tag track numbers, file name order and whatever else. |
