Have a 06 xB that I replaced the factory speakers in.

Fronts:
Focal Access 165 A1 6.5in Front Speakers (60W RMS - 120W Max)

Rears:
JBL GTO527 5.25in Rear Speakers (45W RMS - 135W Max)


I'm definitely taking out my JL 300/4 amp and the JL CleanSweep along with the Elemental designs sub w/amp, but I was wondering if I should bother removing the speakers and swapping them out in the new xB.

The only reason being it would be a bit of a pain, since I'd have to have the dealer arrange for the factory speakers to be removed and have them installed in my 06 xB.

I wouldn't bother if the speakers in the new xB are decent enough to get by until I could eventually replace them.

Guess I'm just asking if anyone thinks the new xB speakers are any better than the previous gen, or if i'll regret not replacing them right away.

I'm also guessing the sizes are the same as before???

You can't do the instal yourself?? There are threads on here which detail the removal of the front door panels & installing the speakers would be easy enough.
You're right about the speaker sizes in the 08..
6 1/2 in front & 5 1/4 in back,, BUT........ the hole in the rear is big enought for a 6 1/2.... The stock 5 1/4s have a bigger mounting plate to fill the door hole... So you are trading in your 06 on your new 08?? Will the dealer take your 06 in trade WITHOUT the door speakers?? if not.........
one thought comes to mind......
buy stockers from E-bay..........then do the switch PRIOR to trade in..... then switch out your NEW 08 stockers for your Focals & JBLs ... then reE-bay your new stockers to get your first E-bay money back...

PS I am sorry, but I dont know anything about the xB 1st gens speakers to comment on them..
But mine stockers in the 08 WERE decent enought till i went for up-grades.. I replaced the fronts & a new HU & it sounds KICK BUTT!! very loud with no distortion.
