XM radio

Need help please. I want to get XM radio for my 2008 Scion XB. I have the stock Pioneer radio that is satellite ready. Can I get any XM tuner or do I have to get one specifically designed for Pioneer radios. Will I also need a "fit kit"? What else will I need?

I called the Scion dealer and they said I would need a few things and it would cost me over $400.00 not including labor.

Yeah these SAT radio things can get very expensive. If your willing to install everything yourself then you save a lot by shopping at trdsparks.com. If you do this you will need 3 things.

The base XM tuner ($179): http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...&parts_id=1035

The Fit Kit ($85): http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...&parts_id=1539

The Base Cover(Not really needed, but protects it from being kicked. $20): http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...&parts_id=1245

Instruction are on that site, look over them and see if it's anything your willing to do. If you have the base HU with the small screen then you might be better served by buying any one of those XM radios with bigger screens that they sell at best buy.

Also, you need know that XM/Siruis are getting ready to file for bankruptcy, so you might want to think twice about this. Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/11/te...adio.html?_r=1
