Nice progress, can't wait for the final result. Would you be willing to say how much you picked it up for?

Thanks guys. Been working on my box so wasn't able to have time to post. I have installed the lights http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...Q5fAccessories
I was wondering if anyone here has used these with HID's installed? When they arrived they said "Do not use HID"s with this headlight". I called the company and the operator confirmed it. I am not one to argue with logic but I was wondering why and she couldn't tell me? My logic is if the 55w bulb they sent with it doesn't affect the light then why should HID's at 35w would?

Any help would be appreciated.

Currently deciding if to leave the hood black or not

You should be able to go HID as long as you go 35w. Most people's concerns about going HID are having their headlight housing melt, specially Ebay brands. But if these are built to strict OEM materials and requirements as they advertise then its more than capable of handling the bulbs.

The other concern would be the wiring melting. If you installed the headlights the way the video shows, then you probably tapped the OEM wires where it plugs in to the bulbs, which isn't considered safe for most people. But from experience with HIDs, the HID bulbs get most of their power from the ballasts, not the OEM light wires, so I think you should be ok at that point.

Are the bulbs still H11? What I suggest is finding someone with HIDs already and test their ballast and bulb just to see if it powers up. The housing should be capable of handling HIDs so the main focus would be just to see if it turns on correctly without any fluctuations.

I'm liking the progress!
My .02 would be to maybe wrap the hood if you decide to not paint it.Maybe use the CF Di-Noc stuff. The unpainted look, meh.
Either paint or wrap would be what i would do to it.
Are you misssing a toe hook plug? Is that intentional?

Thats what I was thinking, thats why I'm asking here, hoping someone used or have used them. In these lights they use H1. I'm figuring they can handle HID's but the company says no. I can't see how they would damage these lights

(Also the car came with a K & N CAI and I want the stock one,, so if anyone here want to trade let me know.)

I just got the ebay short ram, it and the HPS are all designed the same if you care to save a bit of money. the main difference is the nice heat shield you get with the k&n.

Thanks JB! Currently debating on fogs (but I don't want to cut my lower grill) or the led's in the bumper vents.

Sent you a pm about the CAI.

I was reluctant to cut up my lower grille too but for what the fog lights add in function and in looks, it's worth it.
