Newbie here with a dumb question.
Just traded a Hyundai Veloster for a 2014 xB. Never experienced a green temp light upon start-up before. I'm assuming since it's green and not red I'm not causing catastrophic engine damage. It goes out within minutes of driving. Can't find anything in the owners manual except a classification of low coolant temp. Other than that this xB is a blast to drive.

Yep, it's just telling you that the coolant isn't up to full temperature yet. Once everything has warmed up it goes off.
