2013 Scion xB & Release Series info. Lots of pics of my White 2013 "build" on p8+
I removed my rear badge and considered installing a Toyota badge instead (from Rumion), but decided to just paint the original flat black and reinstall -- works for me
! Some reported filling the holes and painting over them, others reported applying stickers or other badges.

Severed, i plan on going that route. i have a couple of scratches on the car already
so i'll have everything taken care of at a local shop.
1-month update:
- i'm at 600 miles so far and i love driving this thing.
- 2 issues: driver side door rattling when playing music and windshield creak.
details:
1) the driver side door is rattling and im not sure what it is. there is a considerable amount of "play" in the driver's door, like where my left knee is when driving. i can literally push that part of the door panel in like an inch... this doesn't seem normal to me... i'll take a look at it when i get the time.
2) when i go over a series of potholes, i hear a creaking coming from the windshield area directly in front of the steering wheel. i think this is the issue that tons of other people on this board had. im going to do what a couple of people have done and take off the shrowd and put some insulation on the bottom of the windshield to prevent this sound from occurring.
aside from that, im a happy camper.
here's a pic of my car trying to be funny this weekend.

So I plasti dipped the stock hub caps today and was pretty surprised at how good they came out. i haven't painted anything in maybe 20 years so i felt like a noob but like i said, the results came out awesome. took about 3 hours total but that's for 5 coats and i waited a solid 20-25 minutes between coats.
the car is new so i actually didnt clean off the hub caps at all with alcohol or water. i just took a bunch of napkins to them and the light coating of dust came off really quick. i really rushed this so i hope they hold up lol.... the end results look solid so i think it will be fine.
some dude online said he had used 4 cans of plasti dip so i went out and got 4 cans ($5.49 each at home depot)..... i actually used a single can for the first 4 coats on all 4 hubcaps! i used a second can for the 5th and final coat and will be returning the other 2 cans. i dont know how the hell someone can use 4 cans of plasti dip.... maybe he did his rims and not just hubcaps...? anyway, just keep this in mind.
these are the hubcaps drying off. the dip is still wet so in the pic, the color looks off but they are beautiful in person. i was really lazy about doing this - i even left the "scion" center logos on haha....

let them dry for a solid 25 minutes after the final coat. and this is what they look like...

the money shot of dat azz <3.... i think the plasti-dipped hubcaps matches the rear diffuser really nicely - it almost looks like it's the same shade of black...

im happy with how it turned out. i was going to plasti dip the tail gate garnish too (that white bar above the license plate) after seeing someone here on SL do it... but after i looked up the instructions on how to remove it, i quickly gave up that idea :D haha... maybe i'll just cover the entire tailgate and spray it on while it's still mounted....? :D

^^ i have not found any 2013 xb parts catalogs online yet so your best bet is to call the dealer and get the part #s from their service department.
but to be honest, those lights aren't really all that bright in the day time... some companies have DRLs that you can clearly see even on a really bright day (like audi) and these lights are definitely nowhere near that in the day time.

@ 840 miles after 9 weeks of ownership.
avs low profile vent visors are on! i used extra double-sided 3M tape for the install because the visors come with a small strip of double sided tape and i was worried that it would not be enough to hold the visors on. install took 15 mins.
after i took this pic, it made me wonder how smoked headlights would look.... or if i got some smoke/dark overlays for them.... hmmmm...

Wow; those visors look sweet. Does anyone know if they scratch easily -- like over the years, going through car washes, etc?
Yes -- I usually go through the car wash, unfortunately.
Speaking of car wash -- maybe someone can chime in -- I'm car washes don't get under the hatch wing, if you have one, right?

Thank you guys for the kind words.
I'm not sure if they scratch easily and i do go to car washes a lot but haven't been to one with this car yet (have only had it a month or so). I wonder how they would hold up considering i added extra 3m double-sided tape to it for the install...
natesi - you bring up a good point. these visors are maybe a quarter inch away from my window so they are semi functional - definitely not as functional as the normal (non low-profile) visors which would be maybe 2 inches away from the window. with these, rain can still come in pretty easily.
i am fine with these though because i am still able to open the window a couple of inches and get some fresh air.

nearing 3 months of ownership (come end june) and im at ~1,400 miles. going to go for my first scion boost service sometime in the next month.
have had no issues with the car at all. loving the roominess that i missed after i sold my xb1.

thanks so much, gs! it's pretty much bone stock with the exception of the few "cheap" mods i've done to it (plasti dipped hubcaps, debadging, seamless visors... that's pretty much it.)
i'm at ~2600 miles now after 4 months of ownership and i've been lazy and haven't taken it for the first oil change yet. my appointment is for this saturday morning though.
i've also been lazy and have not installed the cathodes + cup holder LEDs that i have had sitting in my trunk for the last 4 months lol. i want to do this soon, maybe this weekend... we'll see how i feel haha.
and now the bad: im averaging 20.8 f)(&#@ mpg and I hate that! granted, I do mostly city driving, im not a speed demon and don't mash on the gas at every light..... this 2.4L 4-cyl gets worse gas mileage than the 3.5L 6-cyl in my benz... ugh....

Congrats on your 2013 it looks nice. I have a 2011 and I like the front end and rear end better then the 08-10
I am surprised you could not make a deal for the XB rubber floor mats instead of the cloth XB floor mats
In my area (DC/MD/VA) the rubber floor mats cost $95(with tax)(this is a 4 mat set that says XB on it) and the cloth ones cost $105.
The rubber XB mats are really durable and I have had them in the car since I have owned it(over a year now) and they still look good
Here is a pic of mine

You might be interested in the optional and not widely known rubber trunk mat. It says Scion on it and fits perfectly in the cargo hold and you can still keep the original scion XB trunk mat(the cloth one) under it
It is part PT218-52110. You must give the dealership parts dept this number or they will tell you the thing don't exist
Here is mine

Other things you might be interested in getting is a Scangauge II or a Ultragauge to monitor your car's vitals such as the temp as they omitted it in the 11-13 Xb's. It plugs into your OBDII connector
Here is mine

I drive mine in the sucky Beltway traffic and I get 26-28mpg. Don't go by the MPG estimator on the dash. Full it up and reset the trip odo and when you fill the car up next time divide the miles on the odo with the gallons you put in the tank and you will get your MPG's
Good luck and congrats

#1 - going to the dealer tomorrow for the first oil change and im at about 2900 miles right now.
#2 - i made a hole in the bottom of the arm rest cubby and fished my aux cable through there and out under the side of the center console, next to the driver seat. NOW I NEVER HAVE TO OPEN THE STUPID CUBBY AGAIN TO GET TO MY AUX CABLE!
#3 - installed 2 cathodes up front, 2 under the rear seats and two LEDs in the cupholders. wired everything to a switch that sits next to the traction control on/off switch. now the interior looks a little brighter because at night, it was eerily dark in there in my opinion :D
the install was a breeze but took a lot of hours.
thanks to STENGER for his instructions on removing the center console because that helped me immensely!
#4 - here's a pic of the cheap-a$$ recycled calculator-cover that i turned into an iphone 5 holder / mount. works perfectly.
slightly more info/pics on the iphone 5 holder / mount here -- https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=13
