I'm debating on whether or not I should hold out for an rs... I need to have a car again before the end of feb so ill see... If they are coming out later, I'll stick with a regular xb.

Since this is the "last xb," I hope scion does something awesome for the rs10. :D

Looks like they used the chrome rings for the AC controls from the IQ!!! Also I do like the black defuser on the back bumper!!

As for the RS10's...I've heard from a great contact that all Scions will be released with a special 10 year anniversary color all together!! (Black Color maybe around june or july)

That's ok with me cause when they make style changes (example, front bumpers) the after market guys aren't going to make parts only good for one years cars. Just hope Scion keeps going.

Found this blurb on the autoweek site:

xB: Scion executives give mixed signals about the boxy car that is a brand icon. They say it is important, but also that the box has run its course and is likely to be replaced by something much different. There has been talk of reconfiguring the boxy, 100-inch wheelbase Daihatsu COO/Materia, which is closer in size and design to the original xB that defined the Scion brand.

Scion has said the 2013 New York auto show will offer an idea as to the successor. The problem: The xB will be 6 years old by then and should have been replaced by now.
source: http://www.autoweek.com/article/2012...news/120809963

I do not drive much as I live in the city and this makes me wonder if I should get a 2013 xb /release series xb -OR- hold out until the successor comes out.

Regardless, i'll head to the 2013 international autoshow here at the javits center in nyc to see what they've come up with in terms of a successor.

My 09 is at 108k. If the motor goes, I'll just pull one out of a Camry for $200 :D

I dont think its that easy. I remember someone saying its a PITA (for some reason) and to buy one directly out of an xb2

Only differences I've seen are the timing chain cover. Doesn't seem that it would be that big of a deal.

This does look 99.9% like last years and a couple of the points in the "leaked email" don't really appear to have made it into the model...
Oh Lord! Download all the High Res pics.... They took pictures of a Heavily used xB in this thing. Especially the inside. The Area around the key switch is Gouged to death.... the area to the left of the column is Hammered as well. The seats are exactly like my 2012. And the amount of DIRT under the front of the car is atrocious.... for a Photo Session anyway....

The only significant cosmetic difference is the lights in the "vents" on the front bumper, and the rear slick black addition to the bumper (and of course the lower front grille is now Slick black instead of flat).... and the chrome trim rings on the AC controls (I don't have a standard trans car, so the shifter **** could be different as well)

All good for the enthusiasts.... more likely to see more aftermarket stuff come around after all.

I really like the red though..... Might be enough to get me to trade my White one..... Might not.

hahahaha scott - it's so apparent that the undercarriage is literally caked in very light brown mud. horrible photoshoot and you get the sense that this was a rushed effort.

they put these pics up in december and they STILL HAVE NOT YET put up 2013 data/details on the website..... idk if they're half-assing the last xb in terms of marketing but this is definitely really funny to watch. so many 2013 cars came out last year and it almost doesn't make sense to purchase a 2013 model in the middle of the year since the 2014s are right around the corner....

i, too, was considering the red but i don't want to stand out on the highway. i feel like if i get the red, i'll get my license revoked for the number of tickets where i was doing 60 and not 55. personally, im not gonna risk it. colorwise, im leaning towards army rock... runners up include white and maybe the release series, whatever color it turns out to be, as long as it's not crazy bright like voodoo blue / absolutely red / etc.

Well, NAIAS is on Monday. Let's see what Scion brings to the table. Chances are it will be all about the FRS, but they need to do something.

after doing some research, it appears that scion did not bring anything to the table. in fact, a youtube video shows that they had a 2012 xb on display there! what the hell!

looks like the real "reveal" will be at the ny auto show in march....

ladies and gentlemen,

it looks like some dealers on the west coast have already received 2013 xb's this past weekend - feb 9 & 10, 2013... here's a couple i found online, with pics

http://www.wondriestoyota.com/new/Sc...b589d6ef7.htm# -- it looks beautiful in white!

http://www.wondriestoyota.com/new/Sc...bb2b031da.htm# --- army metallic

giveaways that it's a 2013: led daytime running lights as well as rear diffuser on the back bumper (in black)

here's the new ad spot, website is still not updated yet however.

Looks like the front bumper on th 13s have a little more flare form the front to the new leds...I was hoping that they would fit the 11's and 12's but maybe not....

OMG look at that wheel gap!

Like the diffuser on the rear, the white is pretty.

Curious, do they come with the first aid kit still? Just confused because they show the manual by itself in a picture.

Shadezz, if your looking for the LEDs for the bumper they would probably charge you an arm and a leg for them. I just wanted the plastic replacement on my 012 and they wanted over 40 bucks. If someone would ever make any aftermarket stuff for the newer XBs it would be cheaper. Or quit changing the bumper!
