I absolutely just love my car, has treated me Wonderfull. This was my first brand new car and def glad I made the choice. As for miles I have 34,xxx and not one problem! Reason for the low miles is when in NY I also had a tuned civic that I ended up finishing faster than I thought and switched off. All in alll I love my xB2 love the style, room , Versatility. Once again congrats on your xB and keep us posted on mods or any updates

thanks drew! re: reasons why you like the car - that's great to hear. i love the box for the same reasons and the price.

This is my 48 hour check in. my thoughts so far
- i'm up to around ~180 miles.
- it sure is dark in the cabin when driving at night
- the car feels and drives solid
- the engine noise is MUCH LESS noticbile than on my first 2006 xb
- cruising at highway speeds is awesome - very little engine drone at least based on my initial experience.
- really nice dome lights that light up the entire front and back seats. gen 1 owners will know why im so happy about this LOL (there was only 1 dinky done light on the previous model that barely did anything)
- for what it is, i feel like it has a LOT of power. i always felt the original xb had enough power for me. in my case, my xb2's 158hp feels like over kill and i would have definitely traded less power for more mpgs.
- the car says its getting about 23.4 mpg . i know im still in the break in period but i just wanted to mention that.
- i am LOVING THE HEAD UNIT!! streaming audio via works/sounds much better than i expected. i hooked up my ipod via bluetooth and was using the steering wheel controls + head unit controls to go through tracks. this is awesome.

- is there a way to have more than 1 device "saved" onto the head unit? i ask bc i connected my iphone first to stream music then when i wanted to connect my ipod via bluetooth too, i had to "delete" my iphone from the head unit...

- i wish the AUX ports were someplace visible / accessible like on the gen 1 boxes. why? because each time i connect and reconnect my ipod (when not using bluetooth), i have to literally take everything out of the arm rest, and then lift the false floor and then remove the ipod. not a complaint but a minor annoyance that i may not even get often bc i will be streaming via bluetooth mostly. i may "relocate" them like a couple of other owners have done.
- i love the rear tail lights!
- i installed my 7 or 8 year old heavy duty rubber mats in the car and they fit very well - just have to cut a little bit off (they're like 2" too long) but they do have some extra material so they were meant to be cut to fit.
- i hit some really strong cross winds on my 80 mile drive back from the dealer and it definitely caught me off guard. i remember having the same experience on my gen1 box too so this is to be expected.
- the guage cluster is actually a guage cluster! haha. the first xb literally had 3 guages in one (speed/rpm/gas) so this is a nice change. there is so much more information on the car.
- the shifter/hvac controls and head unit are all organized in a way where i can get to them with my wrist on the shifter as im driving. this is tough to explain but it is easy to get to any of that stuff while driving.
- the sun visor does nothing for my mom bc she's short! l0l. i think this was an annoyance in the gen 1 box too IIRC.
- HUGE TRUNK. i always keep a cooler back there and plan on adding a nice 10 or 12 inch sub and with that there, there is still plenty of room for groceries.

- probably the biggest thing i dislike - there is NO STORAGE FOR THE BACK SEATS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SPACE UNDER THE SEATS THEMSELVES. nothing in the rear door panels (like in previous years) nothing behind the driver/passenger seats, nothing! i think this is odd. the only thing the rear passengers have is the space under the seats and the cupholders in the back of the center console... weird...

overall, im really happy with the car in the two short days i've owned it. best part is that i haven't had any issues yet unlike my piece of crap mercedes that had window issues since day one and were not corrected by the dealer during the 3 years i had it! but i digress.

you can pair more than on device with bluetooth. I have 2 iPhones and an iPod. The all work fine.
If you want an even brighter light, get one of these. Their is almost enough room for 2 of them in the center light (but not needed).
Got 1 of these for the trunk light. Still not super bright, but much better than stock.
Also got some 194 LED's for the map lights (I ordered these, 2 for map lights, 2 for front running lights, and needed some for my other car).
After 12 fill ups/~2200 miles I am averaging 22.2 mpg. Wife drives it ~5 miles each way to work 2x a day, lots of stop and go traffic.
As for another location for the AUX input, I just leave a spare cable hanging out and plugged in all the time.
Weird that the rear doors have nothing in them, mine at least has space for a water bottle.

Now this is all on a 2012, so maybe their are more differences.

golfhak - i will check them out, thanks.

blu - thank you for the tip on the multiple devices. i really haven't had the time to learn the head unit just yet so i'll look through the manual and read up on it. and leaving the cable is a good idea but i dont want it sitting bunched up in the compartment - i might just run it under the cup holders and put it by there bc that's where i'll put my phone / ipod. i recall running the aux cable from the port to the glove box in my 06 xb and will probably do the same here.

The sound in my new Xb was off and thanks to some info from dcmcelreath, it turns out the radio was set to TC. I just changed it to Xb like a minute ago and now it sounds MUCH BETTER. I also got to 198 miles today :D

Congrats on your 2013 it looks nice. I have a 2011 and I like the front end and rear end better then the 08-10

I am surprised you could not make a deal for the XB rubber floor mats instead of the cloth XB floor mats

In my area (DC/MD/VA) the rubber floor mats cost $95(with tax)(this is a 4 mat set that says XB on it) and the cloth ones cost $105.

The rubber XB mats are really durable and I have had them in the car since I have owned it(over a year now) and they still look good

Here is a pic of mine

You might be interested in the optional and not widely known rubber trunk mat. It says Scion on it and fits perfectly in the cargo hold and you can still keep the original scion XB trunk mat(the cloth one) under it

It is part PT218-52110. You must give the dealership parts dept this number or they will tell you the thing don't exist

Here is mine

Other things you might be interested in getting is a Scangauge II or a Ultragauge to monitor your car's vitals such as the temp as they omitted it in the 11-13 Xb's. It plugs into your OBDII connector

Here is mine

I drive mine in the sucky Beltway traffic and I get 26-28mpg. Don't go by the MPG estimator on the dash. Full it up and reset the trip odo and when you fill the car up next time divide the miles on the odo with the gallons you put in the tank and you will get your MPG's

Good luck and congrats

^^ thank you so much for the part number on that rear rubber mat - i think i might wind up ordering one. I actually didn't know they had the rubber floor mats as an option. Although I got the carpet mats ( i think they cost me $184 - ouch) , I'm using an old set of rubber mats which are very deep. i dont have a rubber mat in the trunk area yet. on my old mats, you could literally spill a 20 oz drink on them and it would not spill onto the floor. i actually keep all the stock carpet mats in the car and just put my rubber ones over them. i should just take out the carpet ones...

I bought them 8 years ago at walmart for like $25 and they've held up well but at the same time I don't drive much so maybe that's why I've put maybe 50k total miles combined on all my cars added up in the last decade! Lol. I need to get a rubber mat for the rear though... I have the carpet mat back there now.

Progress today ----

300 watt Vibe amp and 12" Treo sub installed today and it hits HARD!!!!! Everything else is stock- head unit, all speakers, tweeters, etc.

Unfortunately however, the iPad mini mount I made in December (link in my signature) will NOT work on the stock 2013 XB radio! Why? The radio is too "long" and cannot be pushed back an inch which would allow my iPad mini to sit in the front of it.

I think someone with an aftermarket / shorter head unit will be able to use the mount so I'm selling it here on SL. In the meantime, I'll work on another mount.

Up to 290 miles today :D

a side note: i haven been wanting to buy the scion cargo cover --

http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=1545

but have you seen the instructions to install it?!?!?!

http://www.trdsparks.com/install/64009-12011inst.pdf

it looks like you need to disassemble like the entire rear interior of the car to install this.... is it just me or does this seem like so much overkill to install a simple cargo cover? i might just do as others have done on this board and make my own that doesnt require such an involved install.

Yup. I wanted that cover also and the price is good but I am not that handy with drilling and the local stealership wanted close to $400 to install it so I said screw it. I bought a cheap black throw blanket from the store and used that to cover my crap in the trunk

Congrats on your new ride, dude! Guess I'll be waiting a little longer for people to start talking about their 2013's.

^^ much appreciated!

re: weathertech mats -- too expensive for me. I'm not spending $300 for something i'm going to put my feet on and get dirty l0l

I debadged the rear today and the thing looks sooooo SLICK now! i didn't use a blow dryer or floss like most people - it's cold here so i used a thermos full of (near) boiling water). I simply poured it over the emblem which heated the glue up very quickly and was able to pry the "xB" badge off with a few tooth picks. the best part is that i didn't need any goo-gone or anything else to clean up the glue residue since there was none. the water literally turned the glue into something like mush and it came off using my fingers and almost no effort. the Scion logo took a bit longer but still, both were done in less than 10 minutes. now i just have to find something to fill the 2 small holes where the scion badge used to be.

car is dirty though but this is what it looks like.

Also, i previously said that the new LEDs in the front were useless. I wanted to correct myself - they're only useless in the day time. in the night time they are actually visible - i'm not going to use the word 'bright.' PS - that's not an army of bugs on my front bumper - they're leaves.

I was disappointed when I found the holes behind my scion badge. I wound up painting it, and sticking it back on until I come up with a good idea. I actually wound up plasti-dipping my led's because they were so dim, haha. I wish Scion would make them a little more useful.

Lookin good buddy!

that's hilarious - i love how the black/white look on the xb and i was considering plasti-dipping my LED "DRL" lights too lol. next on my to do list is to plasti dip the hub caps but i dont know when i'll have the time to do that

i wonder what other people have done to seal the holes after debadging... i might even go to a body shop to see how much they'll charge... i want it done right and don't want anything seeping into the door since i plan on keeping this thing for a while.

Its not that bad in all honesty. You just have to loosen the panels and drill the holes. They all mount perfectly. Remember if you do the cover you cannot use the scion factory bazooka sub.

I removed my rear badge and considered installing a Toyota badge instead (from Rumion), but decided to just paint the original flat black and reinstall -- works for me ! Some reported filling the holes and painting over them, others reported applying stickers or other badges.
