25k tune up
I'm about to bring my car in for tune up for 25k. I don't like bringing it in a toyota dealer because its expensive. I usually buy the parts and just have a loacl shop install them for me. So far, I have only been doing oil change like that. I would buy the filter and systhetic oil and they would charge me $9 for the change and disposal fee.
So for a 25k tune up what should I buy? I hear some squeaking on brakes so i think I need brakes. I for sure need oil filter and oil, how about air filter or cabin filter? Should I change transmission oil?

IMO tire rotation, a K&N drop-in air filter, synthetic/high temperature performance trans oil; look at the brakes and see that they're within spec (street-use should be good for at least +40k tho)

Should I replace my oem air filter with an K&N filter?
I think I might need to change my brakes, what type of pads should I buy?
I want something that will be better than my oem, but oem are fine.

Just get a home furnace filter from Lowes, cut it up, and put it in yourself. Cheap and effective.
The oem filter is fine(and cheap) and lasts 30k.
This has been widely discussed here so do a search. I went with oem pads. My friends go to napa and get the second cheapest pad and they work well on a daily driver. Also, you shouldn't need new ones at 25k, the lube on the back of the pads probably dried up causing the squeek.
Why? grippyer(I know, not a word...) pads will produce more dust, heat, and eat up your rotors quicker. You would not see any real gains unless you autox or do some sort of racing.
Once again, with few exceptions you should just go by what the maintenance guide says. Yaris owners routinely get over 300k with no issues doing that.
