Anyone have any 1/4 mile times?

I went ot the track last night with a buddy of mine who owns a tC. It was perfect conditions for running in Florida, around 60* out on a new track.

First pass I made was a 16.8 due to faulty launch. The other three runs were all 16.1.

My buddy with the tC ran three 16.2's and finally a 16.1.

I ran using the tiptronic and in Drive with no difference made.

My only mods are a Tenzo CAI intake and an eBay catback exhaust. I had a quarter tank of gas with 93 octane. I have some crappy Nankang tires but didn't spin off launch at all. I loaded the suspension before launching and powerbreaked it at around 2500 rpm.

My buddy has deleted cats, camcon, and an eBay CAI. He had about a 1/2 tank of gas with pretty decent tires. However he ran with the camcon on then off and ran the same time.

Im very very suprised I ran what I did and that I beat a modded tC for that matter. I thought for sure I was going to be running mid to high 16's. I am very pleased that I was consistently 16.1.

Anyone else have their times?

did you turn the traction control off at launch?

SiZzOuRcE 01-24-2009 07:13 PM

yea I forgot to mention that. Vsc was off competely.

AndreyCo 01-24-2009 07:21 PM

Completely....until you hit ~33mph :P

Thanks for the info though!

SiZzOuRcE 01-24-2009 07:30 PM

Not true at all. If you press the VSC off button once, it will turn off the traction control until you reach a certain speed, 33mph or whatever. If you press and hold that same button for 5 seconds, it shuts off the traction control completely. I mean completely.

You can sit in 1st gear for an hour if you want just roasting your tires and it will stay off. I don't think many people know this, or maybe Im wrong.

Anybody who has read their owner's manual knows this. :P

:O I NEVER KNEW THAT (well, i dont have an owners manual so that explains it)

Learned something new today! Thanks!!

Your friends tc was an auto I assume..

I got to research how much the new xb weighs, cause that is basically exactly what he was supposed to run compared to other auto tc's. I can't believe the box keeps up, I would've guessed it was way heavier.

AAG 01-25-2009 12:37 AM

The xb2 is only about 100 pounds heavier than the tc and they have the exact same drag coefficient. It's a drivers race between the two.

cobb 01-25-2009 02:22 AM

I raced a tc during my romp down military highway in va beach the past weekend, I beat him off the line due to reaction time, but he kept pace with me.

While we are turning off safety features, what can be done to disable the air bags, abs, seat belt tesoners and vsc?

Hey, my manual says pressing the button a second time turns off the vsc and traction control. Must be an 09 thing?

best way to turn of your tc is to have check engine lights lol i have a few i cant figure out why

Gut the XB next time. Im curious to see how fast you can go. I dont know if this is a fact but every 100lbs off the car can get you close to -.1 of your time. I use to have an integra LS and ran high 13's all day long with basic bolt ons just slick down and Gutted

coryjames 02-01-2009 03:07 PM

lol i bet mine will run high 12s

Thatd be cool to see. Good luck on traction! I'll prob run mine sometime this year just for fun. Im thinking mid 15's w my mods and my next mod hopefully. But its whatever. Looking into getting a more performance oriented car later on.

coryjames 02-01-2009 09:08 PM

oh it will be fun and is

Unless you were spraying, I really doubt you shaved 2.5 seconds off your time with bolts ons and slicks on an integra LS (what year is your car btw?).

Those are low-mid 16 second cars stock and bolts ons do very little for it. Also the gearing on the LS tranny sucks! I know I had a 92 integra GS and 3rd gear was waaay too long.

I agree, 3rd gear it falls flat on its face. I know, stout engines.
