Beeping while parked and locked...
 

Hi,

Ok guys, it seems my Scion xB (2008, factory alarm) likes to just beep while parked just like you used the keyfob to lock it.

Except that it beeps 3 times and seems to repeat every 5 minutes or so.

Has anyone else seen this? What might it mean?

Yes, and the alarm light inside blinking. When I went out to wait on it to see if I could watch it do it, it didn't. But, as I started it up, backed out of the driveway, and started driving down the road, I heard it again. It made me think it could be a neighbors car in their garage or sometihng making the noise. But, then it gets even more odd. I heard it twice as I was driving down the road too! I opened my window to see if I could hear it louder, but it didn't happen again. Odd.

Maybe it's just the neighbor's Toyota, some alarm systems chirp if the car's battery is dying.

I've a 2008 and I installed Scion Security immediately after bringing it home. I've only heard unexpected beeps when accidentally pressing on the fob buttons after getting in (tight pants?). After the security indicator enters its normal blink cycle, I've never heard any beeps, only disarm or the alarm firing if I do something inappropriate.
