Default Brake Pad Click Noise

Everytime I slow down (braking) at stop lights, when I first touch the brakes and when I let off the brakes, I hear a "click" sound. It is loud and only clicks once when I first tap the brakes and when I let off the brakes at slow speeds. I am 95% certain it is the brake pads moving around in the caliper. I have never had a car make this noise, so to me this is not a normal sound. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so what is the solution, It is driving me crazy? This is on my 2011 XB auto.

It should be under warranty, take it to the dealer & have them check it out. Your brake pads shouldn't be going out this soon but thats what it sounds like the issue is.

I was hoping not to take it to the dealer cause they will just say that is a normal sound or that they won't be able to find it. I was hoping to find the answer here instead of wasting hours of my life at the dealer for which I don't have much faith in to begin with. I was thinking this is probably a design issue or something.

i would also bring it back to the dealer since you didn't even have it for a year yet. it will probably waste a lot of time, but it might be something not put together properly

I took it to the dealer and of course they say it is normal. The tech acknowleged he heard the noise and said it was normal and that it was pads moving around when you hit and let off the brakes. I told him I have had 37 cars in my lifetime and not one of them made that. He said it all checked out and that there was nothing loose. Does anyone reading this have this noise in their xb 2.5s?

My Xb 2.0 doesn't do it.... The last gen Corollas used to do it pretty frequently. Only when going from reverse to drive or vice versa when applying the brakes. It was brake pad shift on the fronts. Toyota recently (within the past year or so?) came out with a TSB and a new brake pad fit kit for the front to alleviate the issue. I wonder if they'll do that for the Xb 2.5...
